Full college credit is awarded. High Jump is designed to enrich and complement the academic program at the high school. Students can choose from a carefully selected group of courses and join Queens College students in regularly scheduled late afternoon and evening classes. Tuition benefits of High Jump ■ Get a “jump start” on college by earning college credit before attending on a full-time basis. ■ Enjoy the same college benefits as other Queens College students, including access to the library, computer center, gym, and more! ■ Challenge yourself academically. ■ Get a taste of the academic and social aspects of college life. Course Selection These are only some of the areas of study you may choose from: Anthropology Art Biology Chemistry Economics French Greek History Mathematics Music Philosophy Physics Political Science Psychology Spanish Courses in the sciences, mathematics, and foreign languages require departmental approval. Admission to High Jump is selective and determined on the basis of the student’s high school transcript, PSAT, SAT or ACT score, and advisor’s recommendation. Please see the chart below. $320 for New York State residents $680 for foreign students on temporary visas and non-New York State residents Fees ■ A $65 nonrefundable application fee ■ A fee of $155.75, which includes the Student Activity Fee, Technology Fee, and Consolidated Service Fee (subject to change) Admission to the college’s freshman class is separate and is in no way affected by a High Jump admissions decision. SCHOLARSHIPS Full tuition scholarships, which cover a 3- or 4-credit course, are awarded to the first 75 New York State resident students who apply and are accepted. Scholarship recipients interested in taking more than one class must pay $320 per credit. Foreign students on temporary visas and non-New York State residents do not qualify for scholarships.
