Course Title: Preparation for Texas Cosmetology Operator Examination
Course Rationale: Prepare students for the state written and practical examination.
Instructional Goals and Purposes: The exhibition of skills required to successfully
complete the Texas Cosmetology Operator Examination and complete the curriculum for
the theory and practical examination.
Learning Objectives: To provide student with the preparation and practice for taking
the state examination.
Specific Course Objectives (Include SCANS information):
1. Perform state board procedures in time limit set by the Texas Department of
Licensing and Regulations.
2. Prepare for the state board written exam by taking 5 tests of 100 questions
each.
3. Assemble necessary items for each procedure in a kit for 3 mock exams and
for state board examination.
4. Complete each procedure in a series of 3 mock state board examinations
administered by school.

Specific Tasks Accomplished:
1. Perform state board procedures in time limit set by the Texas Department of
Licensing and Regulations with 70 % accuracy.
2. Prepare for the state board written exam by taking 5 tests of 100 questions
each with 70 % accuracy.
3. Assemble necessary materials for each procedure in a kit for mock exams and
for state board examination.
4. Complete 2 mock state board examinations administered by school with 70 %
accuracy.
