Dear Parents of 2015 Boys Track Participants,
I want to welcome you to the 2015 track season. The weather is starting off great for us and hope it holds for the
remainder of the season. We have 31 boys out, always wish for more but really pleased with the guys that are and the way
they have worked. As we end our 2nd week of practice I wanted to get some information out to you. Our coaching staff
consists of Coach Showalter, Coach Jepson, Coach Kevin Wood and I.
I have attached a schedule with this letter for you. The schedule is pretty set but weather in the spring can always mess
with that. We will inform the boys of schedule/practice changes anytime we have them. However you can always get
updates @ mnwcougars.com and then go to the ACTIVITIES tab on the front page and look under BOYS TRACK. I
always try to keep that updated. I also will have entries listed so you know what your son is running and an approximate
time as well as results will be posted after the meet.
We also have a track clothing order available if you would like to order any track clothing for the season. By no means is
any of this clothing required for athletes but we always like to make it available as it has always been asked about by the
athletes and parents. This year we combined it with the girls program so there are boys and girls items available. Orders
can be placed @ http://eFlyerOrder.com/MNWTRACKFIELD15 DEADLINE FOR THIS IS MARCH 17TH if you do
want to place an order.
Several meets will either allow some JV entries and some meets will run full JV teams. At this time I know we will run
full JV teams at Humboldt, Ida Grove and our own boys Mike Jepson Meet. Our goal is to run as many guys as possible
at meets and be as competitive as possible. Athletes may run JV, Varsity or in some cases may run both based on practice
attendance and how athletes work at practice, performance at meets, events athletes are able and willing to run and how
we as coaches feel we can best perform as a team. We do a lot of experimenting with different events the first half of
season as we prepare to peak for the conference and district meets in May.
As always contact me if you have any questions regarding your son. However, if it is a question about what they are
running we would like you to speak to your son first and then your son speak to me. Track is a unique sport where
performance is pretty cut and dry about who is currently competing at the highest level. Our goal is to make this as
enjoyable as possible for your son while seeing them grow in strength, speed and performance as an individual athlete and
person.
Sincerely,
Coach Anliker
