Middle East Studies Minor Planning Guide The minor consists of seven upper division courses, or four upper division courses and a three course language series. Three of the upper division courses have to deal with the Middle East since the emergence of Islam, listed under "Core Courses." Approved courses are listed under “Courses” on the Middle East Studies website and in the general catalog. All courses used to meet requirements for a minor in Middle East Studies must be taken for a letter grade and be passed with a grade of C-­‐ or better.
