Dr. Amanda Kraus received her M.A. and Ph. D. from the University of Arizona in
Higher Education. She currently serves as Associate Director for the University of
Arizona Disability Resource Center. In her previous role on campus, she directed a
federal grant to explore how disabled veterans experience higher education and
developed initiatives for their successful integration to college. Dr. Kraus is also
Assistant Professor of Practice in the Center for the Study of Higher Education at the
UA, where she coordinates the M.A. program. Outside of work, she is an avid
wheelchair tennis player. As the Vice President of the United States Tennis Association

players and increase the national visibility of wheelchair tennis. She is passionate
about social justice and access; this is reflected in her work on campus, teaching and
community involvement. Dr. Kraus was recently recognized as one of Tucson’s Top 40
Under 40 by the Arizona Daily Star and Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
