Uptown – Kansas City, MO
Similar to the Midland, the Uptown is an
intimate indoor theatre that hosts a variety of
acts. This is quite the fun environment to
attend a concert. Check out the list of concerts
to see if one catches your eye
(http://www.uptowntheater.com/concerts.html)
Sprint Center – Kansas City, MO
The powerhouse of entertainment in KC hosts
18,000+ guests at hundreds of events each
year. Sprint Center welcomes a variety of
guests including Taylor Swift, Ringling Bros
and Barnum & Bailey, Michael Bublé and college basketball tournaments. This
is the place to go to see all of the A-list super stars. See a full calendar of
events here (http://www.sprintcenter.com/)
Crossroads KC at Grinders – Kansas City,
MO
Just a couple blocks south of downtown KC,
this music venue is a great outdoor concert
area. The live music experience is accompanied with great pizza and BBQ.
Crossroads KC is a perfect summer venue to catch your favorite band at. Next
up? Country music cowboy, Josh Turner. Make your way out on July 26! More
information can be found here (http://crossroadskc.com/)
Kansas City Power & Light District – Kansas
City, MO
The heart of downtown KC is now a
rejuvenated area that has become an
entertainment haven. In addition to unique dining and retail shops, the
entertainment is one of a kind. Countless concerts fill the area with nightly live
music. My favorite part? There are several free concert series this summer.
Check out the upcoming shows here.

Starlight – Kansas City, MO
The one-of-a-kind outdoor theater is a unique music venue that you must
experience. Head out to enjoy one of the iconic live Broadway musicals or a
concert under the stars. Train, the pop-rock band that hails from San Francisco, will sing the night away on July
20. Find tickets here (http://www.kcstarlight.com/concerts/train.aspx)
Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre – Bonner Spring, KS
While the name of this venue has changed a handful of times, the consistency of providing good shows has not.
I have attended large music festivals, as well as small concerts; both were filled with great memories. My favorite
part about this venue is the ability to host enormous concerts. What do I mean by enormous? Vans Warped Tour
takes place on July 23 and they are an all day event with more than 90 bands. See the list of bands here

The Midland – Kansas City, MO
Opened in 1927, the theatre has remained a gem in downtown KC. The classic
theatre takes you back in time with its grand ceiling. Did you ever wonder if Rick
Springfield got “Jessie’s Girl” after all? See for yourself, he plays live at the
Midland on July 27! (http://www.midlandkc.com/events/detail/2759)

Theatre in the Park – Shawnee, KS
Okay, okay. I know this isn’t specifically a music venue but it hosts an array of
performances and is a perfect family outing. I am most excited to check out the
Hairspray show, August 2-4 & 8-10. One of my favorite parts about this venue?
You can bring your own picnic baskets. I’ve got me as a fan if I can bring my
own food. Get tickets here (http://www.theatreinthepark.org/)
Independence Events Center –
Independence, MO
Home of the Central Hockey League team the
Missouri Mavericks, the Independence Events
Center hosts more than 100 events each year.
Whether it’s professional sporting events,
community events, concerts or countless other events, the event center is
constantly buzzing with entertainment. If you’re looking for an event outside of
downtown KC then head to Independence, MO! Check out the events calendar
