This is quite the fun environment to attend a concert. Check out the list of concerts to see if one catches your eye (http://www.uptowntheater.com/concerts.html) Sprint Center – Kansas City, MO The powerhouse of entertainment in KC hosts 18,000+ guests at hundreds of events each year. Sprint Center welcomes a variety of guests including Taylor Swift, Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey, Michael Bublé and college basketball tournaments. This is the place to go to see all of the A-list super stars. The live music experience is accompanied with great pizza and BBQ. Crossroads KC is a perfect summer venue to catch your favorite band at. Next up? Country music cowboy, Josh Turner. Make your way out on July 26! More information can be found here (http://crossroadskc.com/) Kansas City Power & Light District – Kansas City, MO The heart of downtown KC is now a rejuvenated area that has become an entertainment haven. In addition to unique dining and retail shops, the entertainment is one of a kind. Countless concerts fill the area with nightly live music. My favorite part? Head out to enjoy one of the iconic live Broadway musicals or a concert under the stars. Train, the pop-rock band that hails from San Francisco, will sing the night away on July 20. Find tickets here (http://www.kcstarlight.com/concerts/train.aspx) Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre – Bonner Spring, KS While the name of this venue has changed a handful of times, the consistency of providing good shows has not. I have attended large music festivals, as well as small concerts; both were filled with great memories. My favorite part about this venue is the ability to host enormous concerts. What do I mean by enormous? Vans Warped Tour takes place on July 23 and they are an all day event with more than 90 bands. The classic theatre takes you back in time with its grand ceiling. Did you ever wonder if Rick Springfield got “Jessie’s Girl” after all? See for yourself, he plays live at the Midland on July 27! I know this isn’t specifically a music venue but it hosts an array of performances and is a perfect family outing. I am most excited to check out the Hairspray show, August 2-4 & 8-10. One of my favorite parts about this venue? You can bring your own picnic baskets. I’ve got me as a fan if I can bring my own food. Get tickets here (http://www.theatreinthepark.org/) Independence Events Center – Independence, MO Home of the Central Hockey League team the Missouri Mavericks, the Independence Events Center hosts more than 100 events each year. Whether it’s professional sporting events, community events, concerts or countless other events, the event center is constantly buzzing with entertainment. If you’re looking for an event outside of downtown KC then head to Independence, MO!
