Dear artist / designer / performer,
We are happy to invite you to sign up for “FASHIONCLASH Festival”, the
GENDER edition that will bring together designers and artists from all over
world. Next to the extensive program there is a brand new feature in the festival,
namely there are various AWARDS waiting for its winner, and you may just be the
lucky one.
FASHIONCLASH Festival (FCF) is an inspiring fashion festival based in
Maastricht, the Netherlands, that shows the art of fashion in the broadest sense
of the word. FCF is a platform where a new generation of designers and artists
from various disciplines get the opportunity to present their work to a broad and
diverse audience, national and international press, industry leaders, etc.
Since the first edition in 2009 more than 800 talents from 40 different countries
have joined FASHIONCLASH Festival and were given the opportunity to show
their talent and work. Some of their careers really took of from there! Take
a look at fashionclash.nl for an impression of the event and the activities of
FASHIONCLASH throughout the world.
FASHIONCLASH Festival is an initiative of the FASHIONCLASH Foundation
and its artistic and managing directors Branko Popovic, Laurens Hamacher
and Nawie Kuiper. Goal of FASHIONCLASH is to connect new generation of
designers, various disciplines, cultures and to reach a broad audience through
fashion. FASHIONCLASH provides the platform by developing and organizing
projects and events such as the annual festival ‘FASHIONCLASH Festival’, but
have since done several remarkable projects and collaborations in Belgium, Cape
Town (South Africa), Poland, Lisbon (Portugal), Mauritius, Cologne (Germany),
Prague (Czech Republic), Brazil, Malta and so on.

The 2015 fashion festival program consists of the following program items:
A FASHIONCLASH Fashion Shows
FCF offers room for approximately 35 designers to show their collections on the
runway during a three days of fashion shows program.
B FASHIONCLASH Exhibition with the theme ‘Gender’
A special area of the festival terrain set up as an curated multidisciplinary
exhibition area that shows work linked to the chosen theme ‘Gender’.
C FASHIONCLASH Market
We offer an opportunity for the designers and other participants not only to
showcase but also sell their work in a market style setting.
D FASHIONCLASH Side Program
Extensive downtown Maastricht program that includes exhibitions, pop-up
stores, workshops, collaborations with various stores and more. E Fashion Film Night Out (FFNO)
FFNO is a special program that puts the spotlight on new films that fuse the art
of filmmaking and fashion design. It is a selection of short fashion films curated
by FASHIONCLASH. Fashion Film Night Out (FFNO) is a collaboration between
FASHIONCLASH and Lumière Cinema Maastricht.
F FASHIONCLASH Awards
For the first time there will be an award for the most promising designer/
collection presented. A professional jury will choose one winner from the
show or market participants. The winner will receive €5.000 and a spot on
FASHIONCLASH Festival 2016. Furthermore there is the KALTBLUT Magazine
award and also a possibility to win participation at one of our partner fashion
weeks like ModaLisboa, FashionPhilosophy Fashion Week Poland and Serbia
Fashion Week.
FASHIONCLASH offers all participants promotion
International media exposure and publicity on flyers, posters, invitations,
website, blog, social media, etc. And a One-of-a kind festival attended by
thousands of (inter)national visitors.

A Participation
Fashion Show
FASHIONCLASH
Festival 2015
12 — 14 June
2015
FASHIONCLASH Festival runway puts a spotlight on emerging new designers
and labels spread over a 3-day program. There is room for all kinds of styles
of fashion design, from avant-garde and haute couture to street and sports
styles, menswear, womenswear and more.
The fashion show program contains several shows on Friday 12th, Saturday
13th and Sunday 14th of June and the schedule offers room for about 35
designers. Within one show approximately 5-9 collections will be presented. The
composition of a show is based on the concept to show ‘fashion in its widest
sense of the word’. FC determines the content of the show blocks and the order.
→ Presentation facilities: FC provides the space, technique, catwalk, lightning and
backstage equipment.
→ Models: FC provides all models. FC will appoint to each designer his or her
models. FC takes the designers preferences into account (as far as possible
with the walking order).
→ Hair and make-up: FC decides together with the make-up artists and hair
stylists the ideas for hair & make-up for all shows. FC works together with
professional partners.
Make-up styling is provided by a top team of M.A.C Cosmetics and hair styling
will be in very good hands of Kevin Murphy.

FC is responsible for the overall appearance of the shows and the final direction
on the selection of models, hair and make-up styling, the walking order and
presentation facilities.
Important to know that we expect each participant to be present during the
festival. Your presence promotes acquaintance, exchange of experiences,
interaction and cooperation among all participants, press and guests from the
fashion industry. Each show participant receives free admission to all shows during
the weekend + 2 free tickets for their own show. If you want to invite more guests
to your show, tickets will be available and can be bought through several channels.
Each show participant receives also a ticket for the FASHIONCLASH party.
We ask a small one-time participation fee of each participant / brand depending
on the number of outfits presenting.

B Participation
Exhibition ‘Gender’
FASHIONCLASH
Festival 2015
12 — 14 June
2015
The FASHIONCLASH Festival Exhibition is a special part of the festival terrain
on the main location that is set up as an exhibition area. Visitors don’t need to
pay an entrance fee to visit the exhibition.
The multidisciplinary exhibition will be curated with work connected to the 2015
festival’s theme: GENDER.
When you want to participate in the exhibition, your work needs to have a link
with the theme of gender. However you can interpret the theme ‘Gender’ anyway
you like, for example: gender & political view, gender & religion, androgyny,
transgender, etc.
The exhibition gives room for various disciplines as long as linked to ‘fashion’ and
connected the theme of ‘gender’. The exhibition is a showcase with installations
with fashion and textile design, accessories, jewelry, product design, photography,
audiovisual and video, illustration, graphic design, fine arts and more.
FASHIONCLASH determines the selection and the scenography of the exhibitors
in the spaces. The exhibition consists of several spaces (varying in size). The
location also offers exhibition space to a number of works of larger size and
height.
Each participant should describe clearly in the description of their work the
technical needs to present the work. In principle, the participant needs to take
care of his/her own presentation material.
Participants are responsible for organizing and presenting their work. The
selected work must be exhibited in the exposition of FCF from 12th – 14th of
June 2015. If there are any changes regarding the presented work, this should
be communicated immediately to FC. FC remains the right to decide whether the
work will still be included in the exhibition after it has been changed.
FC is responsible for the overall appearance of the exhibition and has the final

C Participation
(designer)market
FASHIONCLASH
Festival 2015

2015
For the second time there will be a FASHIONCLASH (designer) Market at
the festival’s main location. New generation designers and brands get the
opportunity to show and sell their work during this 3-day market. The market
is also a great opportunity to meet potential clients, customers and industry
professionals. Visitors don’t need to pay an entrance fee to visit the market.
The designer can hire a spot (appr. 6 square meters) in the market, and needs to
take care of the furnishing himself. There is a possibility to hire a clothing rack,
table and a mannequin from FC.
It is important to keep in mind that if you are also selected to participate in the
fashion show program you can’t sell these items on the market before showing.
So make sure you will have enough items for the market. Please bear in mind that
your booth is staffed all the 3 days even during the shows, except if you have your
own show.
The Market opening times:
→ 12th of June from 19:00 – 23:30
→ 13th of June from 17:00 – 22:00
→ 14th of June from 13:00 – 22:00
FC will take care of:
→ general fitting rooms + mirrors
→ classification of the stands
Participant takes care of:
→ sales with the customer
→ furnishing of the own spot
When participating in the market a small one-time participation contribution of
€ 200 Excl. VAT. per stand is required.

D Participants
Side Program
FASHIONCLASH
Side Program 2015
11 — 14 June 2014
Location:

FASHIONCLASH Side Program is an extensive program spread throughout
various location in the center of Maastricht. There are exhibitions, lectures,
workshops, performances, young designers selling their products in existing
stores (on commission base) etc. Most of the Side Program locations are
accessible for free and thus great opportunity to present your work to a broad
audience. There will be a FASHIONCLASH Side Program CITY GUIDE with all
participating locations for all visitors of the FCF festival but also for interested
visitors of Maastricht. The Side Program is dynamic part of the festival like a
work in progress and therefore we are also open to your suggestions and ideas.
The various possibilities within the Side Program:
→ Selling in an existing store? We will match a designer with a store. In accordance
with store and designer. The designer will pay 20% commission excl. VAT on
each sold item to the shop owner.
→ ‘Showpieces’ exhibition: There will also be a new feature in the Side Program
called: Showpieces. Showpieces is an exhibition where designers showpieces
are on display; 1 showpiece per designer. This ‘showpiece’ can be an outfit (or 1
piece of clothing), a piece of jewelry, an accessory, a photograph, an illustration,
a video etc. The designer will take care of transportation of his/her work. So do
you want to present your Showpiece let us know what you would like to present.
FC will make a selection of the Showpieces and decide how the work is going to
be presented.
→ Do you want to do a performance? You will take care of the whole performance,
FC will take care of the location and programming.
→ If you have any other great ideas and would like to contribute to the
Side Program, please let us know!

E Fashion Film
Night Out
FASHIONCLASH
Side Program 2015

FFNO is a special program that puts the spotlight on new films that fuse the
art of filmmaking and fashion design. In collaboration with Lumière Cinema
Maastricht, FASHIONCLASH will curate a selection of short fashion films.
FFNO takes place on June 11th at Lumière Cinema Maastricht. In the context
of the festival theme, films based on the concept of gender are welcomed.
Nevertheless, all films regardless of their theme are suitable for submission.
Submitted films do not have to be a premiere.
To show your movie during the Film Night Out you have to be aware that your
film needs to be in High Definition Resolution. For submission of your film you just
need to send us a Lw. Res link where we can see the film.
