All applicants to the Renaissance Scholars Honors Program must also be admitted to Montgomery College. Priority Application Deadlines A new Renaissance Scholars cohort is accepted for each semester. There are limited spaces per campus for each academic year. Fall Semester Acceptance The earliest date for evaluation of materials for the fall session is May 1 of the preceding spring semester. Although acceptance priority will be given to those who meet the May 1 deadline, applications will be accepted until two weeks before the fall session begins; applicants will be notified if no space is available. Spring Semester Acceptance The earliest date for evaluation of materials for the spring session is November 1 of the preceding fall semester. Required Portfolio Materials • Renaissance Scholars Application • Essay A short essay (2-3 pages) in which you provide a biographical sketch and explain what you can offer this program and what the program can offer you. • Resume Please submit a resume that includes a description of your special activities, interests, and achievements and your work experience. You may submit samples of your work, if desired. Materials submitted with your application will not be returned. • Two Letters of Recommendation Recommendations may be obtained from professors, high school teachers, employers, community leaders, or others who can comment appropriately. Each reference should attest to your potential for success in the Renaissance Scholars Honors Program. References may be mailed directly to the program director or included in the applicant’s portfolio in a sealed envelope. • Previous Transcripts Include transcripts from colleges other than Montgomery College.
