A Counseling
As a pastor, of course it’s my desire to personally care for everyone
in my church; however, most of the time I feel stretched thin. Those
who desperately need counsel don’t get it, simply because I don’t
have the time or resources necessary to extend. I’m thankful for the
Marriage and Family Centers that Evangelical offers. Our church
has partnered with them to effectively meet the spiritual and
emotional needs of our congregation, and it has been a blessing
in every way.

A Free Alternative Helping You, Helping Us
Because we use The Marriage and Family Center as an educational training ground for
our masters level interns, we are able to offer three free counseling sessions for couples
or families, only, who you refer to us. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist will
work with the clients during three sessions; however, they will be discreetly observed by
some intern therapists through a one-way mirror. After the initial three free sessions,
clients have an option to continue counseling with an intern therapist at the Center
and pay an agreed upon fee. Availability is limited; days and times must be prearranged. For more information or assistance in scheduling, please call Kathy Lewis

Dear Pastor,
Are you feeling like you cannot possibly meet all of the counseling needs
within your congregation? You are not alone. And we can help you!
Evangelical Theological Seminary would like to introduce you to The
Marriage and Family Center, a counseling, training, and education center
that is focused on building marriages and strengthening families. When
it comes to counseling, we understand that people have complex needs
that are unique to each person. Counseling within your church can mean
addressing diverse and sensitive issues that often require vast amounts
of time and resources. This can be strenuous on a pastoral staff that is
already challenged for time.
That’s why we partner with churches like yours - to offer biblical
counseling to your parishioners that is affordable and effective. Our staff
is able to handle a wide variety of counseling situations and difficulties.
This means we can help you expand both your time and your resources by
assisting you with any or all of the counseling needs within your church.
We offer three locations, all which specialize in marriage therapy and
family therapy. You can rest assured that our counselors are Advanced
Graduate Student Therapists who are specially trained to provide services
for a variety of marital, family, and mental health issues, including sex
therapy and premarital counseling. Working from a family systems
perspective, our counselors seek to restore and strengthen relationships
in a variety of contexts.
You can also take comfort in knowing that, as a Christian-based agency,
we appropriately integrate God’s word and prayer into our counseling
sessions to the degree it is welcomed by those being counseled.

we use enables you to purchase sessions in advance and offer them to individuals, couples
or families within your church at the exact moment they need them most.

Our intern therapists have been trained to use the well known PREPARE/ENRICH program
for couples desiring marriage. They are also trained to use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
(MBTI), which helps couples better understand themselves and each other.
