Business education is witnessing a shift from conventional to innovative learning.
Students are being trained in real life situations to effectively respond to business
issues. There is an increasing emphasis on work experience prior to postgraduate
studies and share past knowledge to help chart a road map for the future of
business. Moreover, inter-cultural and cross-cultural understanding has become
an important component in a global manager’s profile. Today’s business education
should encompass these issues too. A business school programme should enable
students to deal with issues and ideas that are important for business creation and
development. It should also help students develop competencies that go beyond
theoretical knowledge and make their education relevant to the new paradigm.
Governing Body are: Secretary, Government of Haryana,
Education Department (Ex-Officio); Dr. A. Francis Julian, Senior
Advocate, Supreme Court of India; Professor D. K. Srivastava,

Pedagogy
JGBS is mindful of the fact that dramatic changes and rapid transformation in the world will have
a profound impact on the way business is done. JGBS will promote interdisciplinary teaching
and ensure that the faculty members actively involve themselves in meaningful research and
collaborations with the industry and train students to re-think and challenge the status quo.
JGBS’ approach to education will take into account areas like public
policy, corporate social responsibility, entrepreneurship, corporate
governance and other issues of global concern. JGBS will also address

• Centre for Applied Finance
Jindal Global Business Review
JGBS will publish the Jindal Global Business Review with an interdisciplinary focus and carry thought
provoking research on issues of global concern. The Review will have a global editorial board and
research papers will usually go through refereeing process. Apart from publishing original research,
the Review will also actively seek partnerships with similar publications of global repute to develop
a holistic approach to research publication.
Case Studies Centre
JGBS will set up a Case Studies Centre for writing and publishing good quality case studies. The Case
Studies Centre will market its case studies to other interested schools and scholars and will also
have a tie up with the European Case Clearing House (ECCH) to ensure that JGBS case studies are
registered and promoted internationally.
Academic Freedom
Good business research and teaching can take place only in a free and fair environment. And only
such environment will allow a student to challenge, question, think, examine, evaluate, engage, and
develop scholarship and understanding on issues that affect business and the industry. At JGBS there
will be ample freedom for scholars to collaborate and develop useful partnerships and research
exchange relationships with other individuals and institutions.
Student-centred Learning
JGBS will provide state of the art facilities for students; the campus will be connected through
the Internet and would provide rich international and national databases. The library will be fully
computerized and connected with other libraries of the world. Apart from text and reference books,
journals and periodicals, also available will be a host of other wide-ranging international and national
research and case study materials. Although the primary mission of JGBS is to teach about various
issues in business and management and impart important skills, it will also provide its students
broad liberal education to prepare them to take up leadership roles in their chosen fields of work.

Industry Partnerships
JGBS will sponsor and involve itself in industry partnerships with
a view to making business education impact oriented. The industry
partnerships will not only provide opportunities to students for
internships and placements, but also knowledge to understand
strategic issues relating to global businesses and industries.
Industry Integrated Consulting Centre
JGBS will also establish an Industry Integrated Consulting Centre
which will seek consulting assignments and bring best practices into
the classroom. Students will work with faculty on their assignments
and enrich their learning experience.
On-Campus Incubator
As a key differentiator with other business schools in India, JGBS
plans to facilitate the establishment of a real time on-campus
“incubator” by students. The incubator will enable students to
practise their business concepts and skills as well as equip them with
the experience of running a business entity. The seed funding for
the project will be sought from interested venture capital firms and
angel investors.

Location
JGU Crest and JGBS Logo
JGU is built in Sonipat, a bustling town located about 50 km to the north of Delhi within the National Capital
Region (NCR) in the State of Haryana. JGU campus is less than one hour by road from the Supreme Court of
India in the centre of New Delhi. The founders of JGU envisage the establishment of a comprehensive, selfsufficient, state of the art University campus and other physical infrastructure necessary for building a global
campus which is equipped with cutting edge technology and multimedia facilities. The campus of the JGBS
is environmentally-friendly and is built through sustainable use of energy, conservation and utilisation of
renewable resources, including water and electricity. The campus is fully wireless enabled and aesthetically
pleasing with large open spaces, greenery and pathways - all of which are important for free thinking,
rationally reflecting upon global issues that affect different peoples and communities and the world at large
and for providing a congenial environment for promoting excellence in teaching and research.
The crest of JGU symbolizes its mission for the academic
community to create and share knowledge in service of
society.
• The outline of the crest forms a posture of the human
body in meditation, connecting mind, body and spirit,
and reflecting our strength as life-long students for
meaningful role in society. The charted earth as the
head of the human form symbolizes the University’s
global orientation.
Location Map of JGU & JGBS
• The sun illuminating the globe stands for the energy
of creative thought, power and hopes that education
cultivates. Aspiring to be a seat of learning, and for
imparting education and skills, the University invokes
the symbols of the book of knowledge, the light of
wisdom, and the tree representing the natural world.
The focal point is a star representing excellence,
achievement and vision.

• The University seeks to integrate development of
individual character, creativity and intellect with
research and service relevant to addressing the
concerns of society.
The mnemonic graphically depicts the letter ‘J’ and
draws upon the perspective of the stroke to convey
the promise of ‘growing’ leaders through a globally
connected and relevant learning experience while
maintaining high standards of academic excellence.
From another perspective, it depicts individual,
organisational and global growth.

“No less than with the products traded in global commerce, the true reinvention of management education will take place on the “periphery” - and
not at the center of established markets and then spread out from there.
Learning networks of the kind JGBS is helping to pioneer are not just effective
channels for the distribution of important new knowledge; in today’s global
economy, they are the most effective experimental laboratories for creating
that knowledge in the first place.”
