It is with great pleasure to inform you that our esteemed and revered member of
DPS, Dr. Avdesh Sharma (Past President of DPS) has taken a new initiative for Public
Mental Health Awareness, Stigma Reduction and Holistic Health is being started at a
national level. The series of programs ‘Mind Matters’ in the ‘Awakening with
Brahmakumaris’ looks at psycho-socio-spiritual aspects of mind, mental distress and
disease as well as health for major psychological problems. The series also looks at
building bridges between science and psychiatry with spirituality.
The studio based discussion between Brahmakumaris Shivani and Dr. Avdesh
Sharma (Consultant Psychiatrist) is being anchored by Ms. Kanupriya & voice over
for salient features by Mr. Suresh Oberoi (film personality).
The program of 32 episodes (half hour each) covering various aspects of mental
illness and health (predominantly in Hindi) would be telecast everyday (prime
time) 8.00 to 8.30 a.m. on ‘Peace of Mind Channel’ on television.
