Individual communication profiles (75 Points) Describe roles, values, needs, behaviors, types of messages sent, and so forth. Some sample questions to guide your observations are: What is the unique contribution of each tribe member observed in terms of SGC? How do you evaluate this contribution? To what extent are tribe members effective? This should NOT be just a personality profile nor should it just be a general description of the characters and only about their roles. It must reflect course concepts. Be specific. Don't just say that there was nonverbal communication and leadership in the tribe; refer to specific types and/or examples of types. 2. Group communication profile (75 Points) Use small group theory and research to discuss the communication effectiveness of the tribes. For example, you might refer to such topics as interpersonal needs, attraction, groupthink, norms, type of climate, nonverbal communication, conflict management, and leadership, in addition to describing how one or more SGC theories might apply. Be specific in your descriptions. Again just don't say there was a good climate, say what type of climate was it and why you think that. Both the individual and group profiles will be weighted the same, so make sure you devote roughly an equal amount of effort to each. Recommendations (50 Points) Based upon your individual and group profiles, describe how the tribes might increase its communication effectiveness. What specifically should they do to improve? Include any other recommendations you consider pertinent. 3.
