EXPERIENCE/
QUALIFICATIONS:
Law degree from an accredited law school. Current New
Mexico law license. Minimum of two years prosecution
and/or general practice experience. Knowledge of the state
criminal law and criminal procedures in all courts.
JOB DUTIES:
Screening and charging of all cases, subject to review by
supervising attorneys; prosecution of routine felony matters and all
lesser crimes, subject to the review and direction of supervising
attorneys; training and strategic consideration in advanced
prosecution techniques; participation in major felony cases as a
member of the trial team; negotiating with defense counsel for the
disposition of cases subject to approval of supervising attorneys.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor office environment; frequent travel to courthouse;
considerable amount of trial preparation and participation
time required. Some exposure to graphic and/or sensitive
material.
