I am writing this letter of testimony on the request of Ato Ermias Assefa Eshetu, who had worked
with Management Sciences fOr Health (MSH)jRational Pharmaceutical Management Plus (RPM

more than three years, from February 11, 2008 till December 9,2011.
MSHis a leading US-based non-for-profit organization that is working in more than 65 countries to
improve the health of the world's most vulnerable people. In the field of Pharmaceutical Services,
the USAID-funded RPM Plus and SPS programs of MSH-Ethiopia have been at the forefront ART
Drug Supply Management, promotion of the Rational Use of Medicines and improving the quality of
pharmaceutical services and access to them by following a health-systems- strengthening approach.
The major partners with whom our projects are implemented are the Pharmaceutical Fund and
Supply Agency (PFSA), the Food, Medicine and Health Care Administration and Control Authority
(FMHACA),Regional Health Bureaus, schools of Pharmacies of public universities and the Ethiopian
Pharmaceutical Association (EPA).
During his stay with MSH-Ethiopia, Ato Ermias Assefa Eshetu was responsible for the acquisition
and compilation of Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) data from hundreds of health facilities located in
Eastern Ethiopia. The information he generated was useful to monitor patient adherence to ART,
determine patient uptake and served as an input to the quantification and procurement of ARV
.
drugs.
Ato Ermias Assefa Eshetu is a hard-working and sociable person who always met what was
expected of him. He left MSH because the project phased out in December 2011. I recommend him
for similar tasks and responsibilities, and I wish him success in his endeavors.
