BIO/SUMMARY
Barry is a managing consultant in the digital forensic practice, specializing in digital forensics and
e-discovery. Prior to joining Froese Forensic Partners, Mr. Kuang served as director of the digital
investigation practice for a well-established investigation firm.
He is an EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), and
a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). His digital investigation reports and affidavits have been
accepted in various courts in both Canada and USA.

EXPERIENCE
(i) Digital Forensic Investigation
• Conducted digital forensic investigation on potential corruption in Caribbean
government. Special VISA wavier was provided by Secretary of National Security
for the investigation.
• Led the electronic data acquisition procedures on civil search order (Anton Piller)
engagements. Responsibilities included planning, analysis and data extraction.
• Forensically acquired and analyzed data from computers and other digital
devices.
• Advised client on conducting internal investigation of employee’s inappropriate
behaviors.
• Acted as third party supervisor to oversee other digital forensic specialists’
electronic data acquisition process.
(ii) IT Architecture Design, Database & Custom Software Development
• Managed IT Migration & Consolidation
o Client purchased major Canadian fast food chain
§ Project Management:
o Attended meetings representing client
o Managed communications and processes between corporations,
internal departments and suppliers.
o Managed a number of IT projects that were crucial to business
continuity

• Developed and managed an in-house screening database system to streamline
workflow between investigators within the company and the clients.

(iii) Internet Investigation of Intellectual Property Infringement
• Investigated and traced the origin of a malicious website, and the location of this
website was falsely identified by the major media. Furthermore, this investigation
identified the masterminds of the website.
• Investigated confidential health care data leaked to the public via peer-to-peer file
sharing tools.
• Reverse-engineered website applications and analyzed server logs to track down
intellectual property stolen from formal employees and provide evidence to court
without having access to the formal employees’ computers.
• Conducted due diligence investigations on companies and individuals.
