Health Services League of Albion Scholarship
Eligibility:


Adults and high school seniors seeking education or further training in a non-administrative role in a (human)
health-related field.
Applicants must be graduating from Homer, Concord, or Springport High School or live in one of these
communities.
To Submit:





Completed application submitted to the address listed within the application.
Application documents should include:
A copy of letter of acceptance to college or school
Request an official high school transcript and attach a copy to application
Two letters of recommendation (no family members and only one from a teacher, counselor, or school
administrator)

The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year
Eligibility:

Be a registered, active member of a Boy Scout Troop, Varsity Scout Team, or Venturing Crew chartered to an
American Legion post, American Legion Auxiliary unit or Sons of the American Legion squadron OR be a
registered, active member of a Boy Scout Troop, Varsity Scout Team, or Venturing Crew, and the son or
grandson of a Legionnaire or Auxiliary member.


"Leading the Future II" Scholarship
Eligibility:




All applicants must be US residents.
Applicants must be high school seniors or college students and planning to attend or already attending an
accredited undergraduate institution.
The scholarship is not available to graduate students.
Documentation of your attendance or enrollment at an accredited undergraduate institution may be required.

Majoring in Education with the intention of teaching in the classroom

Rosa Parks Scholarship
Eligibility:






Be a senior attending a public or private Michigan High School
Graduate by August of the application year.
Have GPA of 2.5 or above

Eligibility:





Demonstrate noteworthy achievement through work, community or family activities
Express an understanding of overcoming a personal obstacle in life

Jackson Legacy Scholarship







Eligibility:
Graduating Senior from a Jackson County High School with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
Enrolled in a Jackson County school since 8th grade
Living in Jackson County or within the boundaries of a Jackson County school district
Complete the FAFSA at FAFSA.gov (Please note that your Federal taxes do not have to be filed to complete
the FAFSA)
Agree to community service requirements
Enroll full-time (with a minimum of 12 semester credit hours or the equivalent) in a participating postsecondary institution
Continue to live in Jackson County

Bodie McDowell Scholarship
Eligibility:


Recipients must be students of outdoor communications fields including print, photography, film, art or
broadcasting

Old National Bank - Community Matters Scholarships
Description:
ONB Student Checking or Kid$ Start Savings clients who are graduating high school seniors or current college
students are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Old National bank annually awards several $1,000 scholarships for post-secondary education – one in each Old
National region. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to community service and be able to show
documentation of such service.

Kohl’s Scholarship Program
Eligibility:





Students must be between the ages of 6 and 18 as of March 13, 2016 and net yet a high school graduate.
The student’s volunteer actions should be described in detail on the nomination.
Volunteer efforts must have occurred in the last year.
Winners will be chosen based on the benefits and outcomes of their volunteer service.
Nominators must be 21 or older.

David’s Faith & Hope for Life Foundation
Eligibility:
 High school senior that best represents David’s athletic prowess, academic excellence, and commitment to the
community

Scholarships received – with dollars amounts), letter of acceptance from the College/University you will be

Kiwanis Club of Jackson
Eligibility:

Jackson County resident
Graduating Jackson County senior (or be home-schooled who live in Jackson County)
Plan to attend full-time a college or university within Jackson County (Baker College of Jackson, Jackson
College, or Spring Arbor University)
Must also show success in high school and exemplify the Kiwanis standards through extra-curricular
activities, volunteer opportunities, and (if applicable) work experience.

Superpower Scholarship
Eligibility:



Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application.
Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia.
Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2020) in an accredited post-secondary institution of
higher education.

Jackson County Association of Retired School Personnel Scholarship
Eligibility:


Must demonstrate excellence in both academic and community service.
Must be a full-time graduating high school senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

American Association of University Women Jackson Branch Scholarship (2016-17)
Eligibility:








Established scholastic record for two years of college, with official transcripts from all course
Candidate must work at all colleges and/or universities attended.
Contingent upon acceptance by an accredited four-year Michigan college or university and enrollment with
intent to receive a bachelor’s degree. The scholarship is not awarded for study beyond the four-year degree nor
for a second four-year degree.
Must be a female resident of Jackson County, but may reside outside of Jackson County at a state college or
university for the school year.
Minimum grade point average of 3.0.
Some leadership ability evidenced in quality of extracurricular activities. This may include work experience.
Two letters of recommendation from faculty or one faculty and one employer recommendation commenting on
the candidate’s academic achievement and character.
A completed two-page application form
Award: Two awards for the 2016 – 2017 school year are available. Each award is worth $2,500.
