 DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL ADMISSION AND SERVICES UNIVERSITY OF FINDLAY Findlay, Ohio The University of Findlay, located in a heartland community in Ohio is a mid‐sized comprehensive private university dedicated to helping students find their calling through a variety of diverse and transformational experiences, is seeking a director of international admission and services. The director should bring a compassionate and scholarly approach to recruiting international students each year. This senior role within the enrollment management division will be an advocate for international students while collaborating extensively within the broader division and the University of Findlay community. The director of international admission and services will serve as an ambassador for the students and the University by connecting with networks abroad, national and international student organizations, and corporate partners. Joining the University of Findlay community at this time is particularly opportune; international student enrollment is at optimal size and has been a vital part of the University’s enrollment strategy for more than 40 years. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The director of international admissions and services will lead and effectively delegate full functions of the integrated international student office in its endeavors to develop and sustain the optimum enrollment of the international student population at the University. Specifically the director and her/his team of eight professionals will be responsible for: International Recruitment and Services: o Strategic oversight of all stages of recruitment in the international funnel o Study and display expertise in international recruitment trends and the ability to examine international markets; develop student recruitment models and projections each cycle o Management of an onsite office including goal setting and travel; and featuring, but not limited to, adapting to new CRM technology and ensuring that international admissions processes are thoroughly integrated into the larger campus enrollment and student service processes o Manage a robust international student recruitment budget o Oversee overseas agents/contacts, including vetting and training new ethical agents/contacts o Travel internationally to build contacts and manage agents/contacts o Administer international student scholarships as appropriate o Build relationships and programs with international alumni International Marketing and Brand Awareness: o Develop and monitor comprehensive marketing plans that complement annual recruitment plans to bring UF programs to the world o Publish appropriate international student brochures and applications o Manage international social media efforts including the website to advertise the University o In consultation with The University’s Marketing Director, research and manage ROI of advertising opportunities in magazines, newspapers, bulletins, etc. Compliance: o Monitor issuance of all 1‐20s o Ensure effective University compliance in regard to SEVIS and other compliance standards o Communicate with embassy officials as needed o Act as Designated School Official o Supervise all government sponsored programs and mandated reporting Events/Host: o Plan and organize recruitment fairs and special receptions hosted by agents/contacts abroad o Invite and arrange events for visiting international recruiters; host recruiters and positively promote The University of Findlay o Plan multiple international student orientation sessions o Act as The University of Findlay liaison representative to students, agents, contacts, government officials o Maintain current prestigious reputation of The University of Findlay international student recruitment Collaborative Partner o Report and present international student admission trends and market data to the administration and The University of Findlay community o Serve on the International Advisory Board, CARS, and Performance Review committees o Create a systems thinking approach that includes collaboration and conversation with many members of The University of Findlay community. Qualifications The successful candidate will be an expert, a visionary, a scholar in international recruitment, and an advocate for international students. The University of Findlay seeks a compassionate and collaborative leader; one with both strong analytical/planning and exceptional student service and communication skills. The director must be comfortable forging and sustaining partnerships with students, families, agents, contacts, and corporate leaders as well as numerous internal constituencies. Additionally, the director will develop and maintain successful and ethical networks throughout the international community. A leader who has spent time living and working abroad and is bilingual is preferred; additionally a minimum of five to seven years of experience in international education is required. A bachelors’ degree in international business or a related field required, masters’ degree preferred. The candidate must have knowledge of, and experience with, marketing, sales and supervision; strong oral and written skills; strong public speaking, technology and social media skills; and the ability to effectively use a wide array of software programs is essential. The candidate must have a valid passport and driver’s license, a safe driving record and be willing to travel abroad. The Intensive English Language Program (IELP) offers sessions in the summer and throughout the academic year designed to advance students’ English language proficiency and introduce them to Ohio and U.S. culture. Findlay, Ohio Nestled in northwest Ohio, Findlay is a small city of 40,000 located on the I‐75 corridor. Findlay is the second largest city in northwest Ohio and continues to grow.
