activities we recommend during your stay. Take in the sights at Sunriver and get out
and explore the beauty of Central Oregon!
Day 1
AFTERNOON Welcome to Sunriver! With so many amazing experiences waiting for you, it’s hard to know where to begin.
Start by winding down with the family in The Cove at Sunriver Resort (coming summer 2015). Kids will love the discovery area,
water slide and floating sphere water feature while you enjoy a beverage and relax in the raised Spa
EVENING For an unforgettable dinner, visit The Grille at Crosswater. With its exceptional location and beautiful views, this is
the perfect representation of a true Northwest lodge. Innovative and inspired Chef Jason Greene offers his incredibly diverse
menu of New American cuisine, utilizing only the finest fresh local ingredients available. The menu demonstrates the ideal
infusion of robust flavors paired with Northwest ingredients. Your hardest decision will be deciding what to try first.
Day 2

take your family out to the Sunriver Stables for an authentic trail ride. These guided rides will take you throughout the
Sunriver property, which boasts scenic views of Mt. Bachelor and the Deschutes River. This is truly an unforgettable experience
for all ages, and one that you will remember for years to come.

Oregon Observatory at Sunriver. Staff and volunteers provide a relaxed, fun, and educational atmosphere for viewing the
starry night skies. Sunriver’s elevation, pitch-dark surroundings, and crystal clear air make it perfect for star gazing. At

Day 4
ALL DAY Get ready to take in one of the most beautiful natural wonders of the world: Oregon’s only National Park, Crater
Lake. Located about two and a half hours away from Sunriver, even seasoned travelers gasp at the twenty-mile circle of
cliffs, tinted in subtle shades and fringed with hemlock, fir, and pine surrounding the lake of indescribable blue. At 1,943
feet deep, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States and one of the ten deepest in the world. With its sheer cliffs,
two picturesque islands, and its violent volcanic past, Crater Lake is like no place on earth. It truly is a ‘see it to believe it’
destination, with stunning scenery any time of year. Crater Lake National Park is host to a diverse array of activities. While
enjoying the natural scenic wonders, you can hike in old growth forests, participate in a variety of interpretive activities, or
even cross- country ski during the snow season.
Day 5
MORNING After a relaxing breakfast at one of our fantastic area restaurants, take some time to visit the Sunriver Nature
Center. With its rare birds-of-prey, Sunriver’s only botanical garden, extensive nature trails and interactive indoor exhibits, the
Nature Center is an engaging place to get a little closer to the earth. Their staff of naturalists will keep your kids curiously
engaged and provide an exciting new perspective on the natural world.
AFTERNOON Time to hit the ground running… or peddling. With over 35 miles of paved bike paths throughout Sunriver, one
of the best ways to explore the area is on two wheels. Stop by the Sunriver Bike Barn to rent bikes for the whole family! While
on your bike path tour, swing by the Lodge to grab a snack from The Merchant Trader Café, or play a quick round on the
nine-hole Meadow’s Putting Course. You bring the friendly competition; we’ll supply the putters and golf balls.
Visit The Village at Sunriver and take advantage of quaint boutique shopping at its finest. The Village features an array of
dining options, regional shopping, and art galleries that are all nestled in a spectacular alpine setting. In The Village, you
will find everything you need to complement your trip, from Sunriver branded souvenirs and apparel to high performance
sporting gear and equipment.

Caldera Springs and visit Zeppa Bistro. Located in the spectacular Caldera Springs Lake House, Zeppa Bistro overlooks
Obsidian Lake with breathtaking views of Mt. Bachelor in the background. Enjoy a slice of pizza from the brick oven, gourmet
sandwiches and salads, a glass of Italian wine, or a scoop of cool Gelato ice cream. With outdoor seating on the expansive
patio, Zeppa Bistro is the perfect place to enjoy a casual meal and wind down for the night. After dinner, cozy up to one of
the lakeside fireplaces and roast a marshmallow for your very own s’more while you watch the sunset over the lake.
Day 6
MORNING Stop by Fort Funnigan and let the kids be kids! Whether it’s a day of outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, or
superhero moves on the climbing wall, Fort Funnigan offers the perfect environment for children to get their wiggles out.
Kids won’t run out of things to do with over 3400 square-feet of fenced play yards and programs that include field trips to
the Stables, Marina, Fish Hatchery and Nature Center. And when the weather doesn’t cooperate there are plenty of games,
activities, arts and crafts perfect for the great indoors. Parents can take advantage of the time by visiting Sage Springs Spa for
an unforgettable relaxation experience. With an array of spa treatments and massages available, it’s hard to know which one
to indulge in first.
AFTERNOON For an awe-inspiring display of nature, take a short drive to the Lava Cast Forest located just ten minutes east
of Sunriver. At the Lava Cast Forest, you will walk through lava flow which spilled through standing forests 6,000 years ago.
The trees became encased in stone when the lava cooled. What remained were “casts” of the trees, many of which go several
feet below surface level. Take in the surrounding landscape that includes molds of the trees as well as beautiful new plants
including wild flowers, bright Indian paintbrush, and Ponderosa pines.
EVENING Wrap up your day of exploration with dinner at Meadows at the Lodge. Chef Fabrice Beaudoin takes great care in
sourcing local, green and sustainable ingredients which shine through in his Northwest inspired cuisine. At Meadows, you
can indulge in imaginative and dazzling dishes perfectly complimented by a local microbrew or a glass of wine from our
collection that received the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence. Throw in a view of the vast and beautiful Sunriver meadow,
outstretching Deschutes National Forest, and majestic Mt. Bachelor, and you have the perfect place to top off an amazing
week.
Day 7
