July 18, 2011 – [Milwaukee] – Milwaukee Repertory Theater announced today that tickets to Eric Simonson’s Broadway play, Lombardi, will go on sale to the general public Friday, July 29. The play is based on the book When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi by David Maraniss. The Rep will bring the legendary coach home to Wisconsin where the play will have its post‐Broadway Regional Theater Premiere and will run from October 11 through November 13, 2011. Versatile Rep Resident Acting Company Member Lee E. Ernst will be featured in the role of the legendary Vince Lombardi. Ernst was seen in a wide range of critically‐acclaimed roles during The Rep’s 2010/11 Season from the Emcee in Cabaret, to Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol, to Leon/Nick in Speaking in Tongues and to Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman. Ernst will be joined by local Milwaukee actress Angela Iannone as his wife Marie Lombardi. Iannone was seen at The Rep this past season as Fraülein Kost in Cabaret and frequently appears on the stages of Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago. She recently appeared as Kate Hepburn in Tea at Five at In Tandem Theatre and as the Countess Orsini in A Sleeping Country at Next Act Theatre. Cameron Knight will appear as Dave Robinson. Knight was a company member of Resident Ensemble Players and an instructor of African‐American Theatre and Acting at the University of Delaware. He has performed at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Kennedy Center and Meadow Brook Theatre, to name a few. Reese Madigan will perform the role of Paul Hornung. Madigan returns to The Rep after playing Biff in Death of a Salesman and Hannay in The 39 Steps last season. Madigan has made numerous appearances on Broadway, Off‐Broadway, regionally and in film and television. Rep Resident Acting Company Member Gerard Neugent will play the role of Michael McCormick. Gerard was most recently seen as Happy in Death of a Salesman, Clown 2 in The 39 Steps and Stan Laurel in Laurel and Hardy this past season at The Rep. Neugent just completed his eighth season with The Rep and his fourth in the Resident Acting Company. Arthur Lazalde will play Jim Taylor and will be making his Milwaukee Rep debut. He has appeared at Mint Theater Company, Harold Clurman Theater Lab, Studio Tisch, New York Theatre Experiment and the Utah and Shakespeare Theater Festivals, to name a few. The creative team for this fully‐realized production of Lombardi includes: Sanford Robbins (Director); Linda Buchanan (Set Design); Holly Payne (Costume Design); Thomas C.
