Terms and Conditions
1.
Definitions
1.1
For the purposes of this Terms and Conditions, the following words and
expressions shall have the meanings assigned to them except where the context
otherwise requires:“The Bank” means AmBank (M) Berhad (Company No: 8515-D) and AmIslamic
Bank Berhad (Company No: 295576-U), companies incorporated in Malaysia
under the Companies Act 1965 and the Islamic Banking Act 1983 respectively
and having its registered address at Level 22, Bangunan AmBank Group, No. 55
Jalan Raja Chulan, 50200 Kuala Lumpur.
“AmBank Group” means all the related Corporations and Associate
Corporations of the Bank whether incorporated inside or outside Malaysia,
existing now or in the future and reference to „AmBank Group‟ in this Terms and
Conditions herein, shall include all or any entity within the AmBank Group.
“AmOnline” means AmOnline Internet Banking services offered by AmBank
Group to their customers to perform Banking transactions via Internet in
accordance to the Terms and Conditions

“AmGenie” means AmGenie Mobile Banking services offered by AmBank
Group to their customers to perform Banking transactions via Mobile Phone in
accordance to the Terms

Conditions

“Eligible Participants” means all newly registered and existing AmOnline and
AmGenie users and customers who are qualified to participate in this Promotion
and conduct bill payment(s) via AmOnline or AmGenie during this Promotion
Period and individual(s) and/or person(s) as stipulated herein.
“Bill Payment” means a payment facility offered by AmBank Group that allows
AmOnline or AmGenie customers to pay their selected bills via online by debiting
the specified amount from customers‟ AmBank/AmIslamic Savings Account or
Current Account or AmBank/AmIslamic Bank Credit Card to effect payment to
the selected payees.
“The Promotion” means “2 is better than 1” Bill Payment Promotion
organised by the Bank in accordance to the Terms and Conditions stipulated
herein (“the Promotion”).
1.2
Words denoting person shall include living persons, and if and where applicable,
any body or persons incorporated or unincorporated. Words importing the

singular shall also include the plural and vice-versa. Words importing the
masculine gender shall include the feminine and neuter gender.
2.
Promotion Period
2.1
The Promotion shall commence from 6.00am on 16th July 2012 and shall be
valid until 11.45pm on 31th August 2012 (‟Promotion Period‟) or such other
period(s) which shall be determined at the sole and absolute discretion of the
Bank.
3.
Eligibility
3.1
The Promotion is open to all new and existing AmOnline or AmGenie users
during this Promotion Period. (Hereinafter collectively referred to as „Eligible
Participants)
3.2
Employees of AmBank Group are eligible to participate in this Promotion except
the following:3.2.1
Permanent and/or contract employees and their immediate family
members (spouses, children and parents) of the following departments:
- Channels
- Group Marketing, Retail Finance, Legal and Audit who are directly
involved in the Promotion.
3.2.2
Representatives, vendors and/or agents (including advertising and
promotion agents) of AmBank Group (including its subsidiaries and
related Companies) and their immediate family members (spouses,
parents and children).
4.
Mechanics and Conditions
4.1
Mechanics
4.1.1
The Promotion mechanics are as follows:

The Promotion will be conducted based on number of entries.

The more frequent Eligible Participants pay bills, the higher the
number of entries they will receive.

Seven (7) winners from all bill payment transactions will be
selected for Draw 1. Followed by three (3) winners from Draw 2
which will be selected from Hotlink prepaid top up and Maxis
Postpaid bill payment transaction only. A total of ten (10) winners
will be selected in the entire Promotion.

Each draw will include customer and staff category.

Winners of Draw 1 who perform Hotlink prepaid top up and/or
Maxis Postpaid bill payment transaction will be entitled to win
prizes from Draw 2.

Conditions
4.2.1
To be eligible to gain entries in the Promotion, the following conditions
must be fulfilled:
Payment

Partial Bill Payment(s) is not allowed.

Each transaction has to be a minimum payment of RM10.00.
4. 2.2 The following forms of bill payments or transaction shall not be accepted:

Prizes
5.1
All the prizes are divided into two (2) categories, which are customer category
and staff category:
5.1.1 Draw 1
Customer category:
A total of five (5) prizes consisting of:
3 winners x 1 unit of HTC Sensation each
2 winners x 1 unit of HTC Flyer each
Staff category:
A total of two (2) prizes consisting of:
1 winners x 1 unit of HTC Sensation each
1 winners x 1 unit of HTC Flyer each
Note:
Customer Category
The first three (3) selected customers of Draw 1 will each
qualify to win a HTC Sensation; the fourth (4th) and fifth (5th)
selected customers of Draw 1 will each qualify to win a HTC
Flyer.

Staff Category
The First (1st) selected staff of Draw 1 will each qualify to win a
HTC Sensation; second (2nd) selected staff of Draw 1 will each
qualify to win a HTC Flyer.
5.1.2 Draw 2
Customer category:
A total of two (2) prizes consisting of:
2 winners x 1 unit of iPad2 each
Staff category:
1 winner x 1 unit of iPad2 each

The first two (2) selected customers of Draw 2 will each qualify
to win an iPad2
Staff Category
The First (1st) selected staff of Draw 2 will qualify to win an
iPad2.
5.2
Prizes shall be given within six (6) weeks from the date of the winners‟
announcement date. If prizes remain uncollected within two (2) months after the
announcement of winners, the prizes shall be forfeited by the Bank without any
prior notice to the winner(s) and the Bank shall have the right to retract the
prizes.
5.3
The Bank has the full right and discretion to substitute and/or change the prize(s)
with items of similar retail value with prior notice to the participants for any reason
whatsoever.
6.
Selection of Winners
Subject to any changes with prior notice as determined by the Bank at its sole
and absolute discretion, the selection mechanism or process to be used to
determine the winners is as follows:-
6.1
Selection Mechanism/Process
6.1.1
The total number of entries will be collated by the Bank‟s internal system
at the end of the Promotion Period. The potential winners of Draw 1 will
be shortlisted via a predetermined system-based selection methodology.
In Draw 2, another selection with the same methodology would be made

only for those who perform Hotlink prepaid top up and / or Maxis Postpaid
bill payment transactions.
Subsequently:6.1.1.1 The Bank shall contact the potential winners during office hours
(between 9am till 6pm) from, Monday to Friday or at any time it
deems appropriate via telephone.
6.1.1.2 Successfully contacted potential winners are required to answer a
question posted by the Bank‟s Contact Centre Representative.
6.1.1.3 Should there be a case where potential winners are unable to
answers the question correctly; the next potential winner will be
selected to answer the question. The potential winners who
answer the question correctly shall be selected as the winner(s)
respectively.
6.2
6.1.2
Telephone call(s) made to the potential winners will be based on the
latest telephone number(s) provided to the Bank and maintained in the
Bank‟s records.
6.1.3
It shall be the Eligible Participant‟s responsibility to ensure that the
contact details provided are current and updated with the Bank.
6.1.4
The Bank shall not be held liable in the event the potential winners cannot
be contacted for whatsoever reasons.
6.1.5
The announcement of the winners shall be made on the Bank„s Corporate
Website, www.ambankgroup.com after the Promotion ends.
6.1.6
The Bank shall also issue a Confirmation Letter along with the prize to the
winners within fourteen (14) days from the date of the announcement of
the winners or at anytime as deemed fit and appropriate by the Bank.
6.1.7
Winners are required to claim the prize from their selected Bank‟s branch
within two (2) months of the announcement date.
6.1.8
No extension of the validity of the prize is permitted and prize(s) which
are not claimed by the winner within the stipulated period shall be
forfeited. Winner will be informed on this condition during the phone call.
Variation/RevisionNotwithstanding clause 6.1, the Bank shall have the right and absolute discretion
to vary/revise/amend the Selection Mechanism/Process as it deems fit at any
time with prior notice to the Eligible Participants for such purposes.

7.
General Rules
7.1
By participating in this Promotion, all Eligible Participants consent to and agree to
be bound by the Terms and Conditions herein, and the decisions of the Bank
and/or the organizers and judges.
7.2
All transactions as recorded by the Bank shall be final and conclusive.
7.3
The Bank‟s decision on all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and
binding on all Eligible Participants and winner(s) of this Promotion and no further
correspondence or appeal will be entertained.
7.4
By participating in this Promotion, the winner(s) consent to and agree that the
Bank shall be at liberty to publish or display their name(s), identification
number(s), city of residence and pictures for advertising and publicity purposes
only in any form as it deems necessary and appropriate for such purposes.
7.5
Under no circumstances will the Bank be liable for any loss or damages,
including without limitation to, loss of income, profits, goodwill, direct or indirect,
incidental, consequential, exemplary, punitive or special damages of any party
including third parties, howsoever arising whether in contract, tort, negligence or
otherwise, in connection with the prizes and/or this Promotion. The winner(s) and
their personal representatives voluntarily accept all risk and hereby agree to
indemnify and hold the Bank harmless against any claim or claims whether from
the winner himself or any third parties arising out of any accident or incident
resulting to any loss or damage including bodily injury which leads to permanent
disability or death in connection with the prizes.
7.6
The Bank expressly excludes and disclaims any representations, warranties or
endorsements, expressed or implied, written or oral, including but not limited to
any warranty of qualify, merchantability or suitability in respect of the Prize(s)
offered for the Promotion and its respective supplier.
7.7
The Bank shall have the right and absolute discretion to vary, delete or add to
any of these Terms and Conditions herein contained, with prior notice given.
7.8
The Bank shall have the right and absolute discretion to disqualify any Eligible
Participant that it finds or determines to be tampering with the entry process
and/or the operation of the Promotion, to be acting in breach or potential breach
of the Terms and Conditions herein.
7.9
The Bank shall have the right and absolute discretion to cancel, terminate or
suspend this Promotion at any time without assigning any reason with due
notice. For the avoidance of doubt, cancellation, termination or suspension by the
Bank of this Promotion shall not entitle the Eligible Participants or winners to any
claim or compensation against the Bank and/or AmBank Group for any and all
losses or damages suffered or incurred by the Eligible Participants as a direct or
indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination or suspension.

7.10
The Bank shall not be liable for any default in respect of the Promotion due to
any act of God, war, riot, strike, lockout, industrial action, fire, flood, drought,
storm, technical or system failures or any event beyond the reasonable control of
the Bank.
7.11
All terms and conditions stipulated herein, shall be governed by and construed in
accordance with the laws of Malaysia.
7.12
In the event of any discrepancies or conflict in the interpretation of these Term
and Conditions, the English and Bahasa Malaysia version of each of these Term
and Conditions shall be construed as equivalent and each of the Term and
Conditions stipulated shall carry the same meaning.
7.13
The Bahasa Malaysia version of the Terms and Conditions is available at
AmBank‟s corporate website at www.ambankgroup.com. Customers are required
to log on to AmBank‟s corporate website for the latest Promotion Terms &
Conditions.
