LENTEN LUNCH & SUPPER
Our final Lenten lunch and super will be this coming
Wednesday, March 25. The lunch, following the 11:00 a.m.
worship service, will be prepared by the Funeral
Committee. The menu is a Reuben/Crescent sandwich,
salad and dessert. Your donations will be used to purchase
additional equipment for Zoar’s kitchen. Then, in the
evening from 5:30—6:00 p.m., supper will once again be
prepared by our Mission Partner congregation, Redeemer
Lutheran Church. They will be serving fish, salads and
dessert. All evening donations will benefit the many
Outreach Ministries of Redeemer. Thank you to ALL who
have supported the Lenten meals this season.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Do you have any church /Bible/faith questions you’ve never
asked because you think they are “dumb”? Join Pastor Jen
on March 22 at 9:45 a.m. in the Conference Room. No
question is too easy or “dumb”.
PRAYER PARTNERS INVITE YOU TO PRAY
Each week the Prayer Partners invite you to pray with us for
a specific concern. Please pray for shut-ins this week. Pray
for those who due to age or other disabilities are not able
to be active any more. Pray that they will be remembered
and cared for by those around them. Pray that they will
have adequate food, shelter, and medical care. Pray that
they will know that they are not forgotten by God, and that
they know God’s peace.
MUSIC NOTE
The hymn The Word of God is Source and Seed (ELW 506)
has multiple points of biblical inspiration all centered on the
metaphors and images for the word of God. In the hymn we
read that the word of God is like a seed, powerful and lifegiving, flesh and grace. Those images are reminiscent of
what we read in the first chapter of John: the Word was
with God and the Word was God. This beautiful hymn,
written by Dolores Dufner in 1983, simply telescopes and
amplifies our understanding of the God-who-took-humanform. The tune was written by David Hurd.
BOB EVANS FUNDRAISER
Bob Evans restaurant on Route 20 in Perrysburg is “selling”
Easter Eggs, similar to the leaves they sold last fall. The
money raised will be given to Zoar to provide farmhouse
meals for needy families. Please visit “Bob’s” this month and
make a generous donation to help feed less fortunate
families in our community. This is ONLY at the Route 20
location.
CSI (Christian Seniors Interacting)
We meet at Abundant Life #2 on March 24 from 11:30
a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This week’s schedule is: Bible Study with

miscellaneous expenses. To make reservations, please

Thursday prior to each meeting.
KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM
For several years, Zoar members have enrolled their Kroger
Plus Shopper’s Card in Kroger’s Community Rewards Program.
By enrolling, Kroger will donate 5% of every purchase you
make to our Mission Partner congregation, Redeemer
Lutheran Church. However, every year on or after April 1,
your Kroger Plus card must be re-enrolled. Go online to
www.krogercommunityrewards.com and follow the
instructions. Enrolling your card does NOT affect your
Kroger discounts or fuel rewards. In 2014, Redeemer
received $1661 from the Kroger Community Rewards
program. Thank you for caring!
