PROJECT PROPOSALS WRITTEN FOR FUNDING
1. Antihelmintic study with a view of developing a commercial antihelmintic
product,-presented and funded by the JKUAT Innovation fund in the tune of
4.5Million for a period of 3 years.
2. Strategic Value Chain Study of the Smallholder Dairy Industry in Central Kenya
whose purpose is to Document the challenges facing the smallholder dairy
subsector in the central Kenya region –Presented and funded by the Kilimo trust
in two phases. Phase one $ 66,900 brought to the University.
3. Toxicological study of snake venom in Kenyan snakes- Presented to JKUAT
research fund. Funded to the tune of Ksh 3.2 million for three years.
4. Evaluation of yellow oleander as an animal feed supplement-proposal funded by
Jomo Kenyatta University research grant.Ksh 300,000
5. Proposed a training course in artificial insemination, veterinary reproduction and
obstetrics- accepted by Jomo Kenyatta University Deans committee for
implementation.

6. University led community transfer project. Livestock breed improvement program
by use of artificial insemination techniques. Presented to Kenya Agricultural
Productivity project (KAPP), Nyeri District Service Unit (DSU).
7. Initiated and developed a university Bachelor’s degree program, in Animal,
Health, Production and Processing(AHPP). The program is already running

1. A member of JKUAT meteorological station, a project of the university which led
to the establishment of the meteorological station in JKUAT.
2. Represented JKUAT in the World Bank committee drawing the proposal for the
KAPAP. JKUAT will to spearhead the value addition project and be a member of
