Estimados padres de familia:
Como ustedes saben, nuestro colegio incentiva desde los primeros años el interés por
ampliar los horizontes de lectura. Más adelante, en secundaria, procuramos reforzar esta
actitud poniendo a nuestros alumnos en contacto con listas de libros recomendados, que son
trabajados al interior del programa curricular de las áreas de Comunicación Integral e inglés.
Por ser el nuestro un colegio bilingüe, alcanzar a plenitud las metas del plan lector de
secundaria implica que cada año nuestros alumnos lean, como mínimo, cinco libros en
español y cuatro en inglés. En el caso de Comunicación Integral, cada grado tiene
predefinidos cuatro textos y cuenta, además, con una lista de opciones para elegir el quinto
libro. Por su parte, el área de inglés requiere la lectura de tres libros predefinidos más uno de
selección personal.
Dada la conveniencia de que el grupo trabaje con el mismo texto en clase, sugerimos
en ciertos casos una editorial; sin embargo, no es obligatorio que se adquiera
específicamente la edición que recomendamos. Los libros podrán traerse de casa,
conseguirse prestados -eventualmente de nuestra biblioteca-, o bien adquirirse en el local del
colegio durante nuestra School Fair, oportunidad en la que diferentes editoriales ofrecen los
libros del programa y otros, a precios accesibles, con el propósito de dar a nuestros alumnos la
oportunidad de incrementar su biblioteca personal de acuerdo con sus particulares
preferencias.
Es muy importante que nuestros estudiantes traigan el libro requerido a clases. Existen
calendarios de lectura específicos, es exclusiva responsabilidad de los alumnos y sus padres
conseguir el libro a tiempo. Si su hijo(a) no trae el libro en el día establecido, asumiremos
que requiere que el colegio se lo facilite; en consecuencia le entregaremos uno, que será
cobrado automáticamente a ustedes a través del sistema del banco.
Agradecemos por anticipado su colaboración en este esfuerzo por desarrollar un mayor interés
por la lectura entre nuestros alumnos. Estamos convencidos de que, gracias al estímulo
conjunto de padres y maestros, cada alumno logrará culminar la lectura de los nueve libros que
conforman su plan anual.

Dear parents,
As you know, Trener fosters student’s interest in reading from their first years in Primary
School. Then, in Middle and High School, we try to reinforce this interest by assigning our
students reading lists with recommended books in Spanish and English.
As a bilingual school, we set reading goals for our students to achieve as follows: five
books in Spanish and four books in English. In the Spanish area, each grade has four
predetermined books, and a list with options to choose the fifth one. The English program
requires the reading of three predetermined books plus one that each student will choose.
Due to the convenience that the whole group works with the same text in class we
suggest the publisher in some cases. However, it is not obligatory that you buy the edition we
recommend. The books can be brought from home, borrowed from the school library (there are
only a limited number) or purchased at school during registration or at our School Fair.
It is important that your son or daughter brings the required reader to each English
class. It is the student’s and parent’s responsibility to have the book on time. If your son or
daughter has not acquired the required reader after one week, he or she will automatically be
issued the reader from school and the school will bill this to your account.
