Turn your cotton material scraps into something beautiful
and useful. Use just two stitches to create a rug, or
other items such as hot pads, doilies and even hats. No
experience needed, just patience. We’ll learn how to tear,
roll, join material and keep the rug flat. Each student will
be contacted to offer suggestions for materials. The hook can be provided for minimal cost.

Use ponderosa pine needles and natural materials--such as
sliced antlers, black walnuts, or quince--to make a unique
little basket. If time permits, we will make a lid or start a
second basket. No experience necessary, just patience and the ability to work with small
supplies. Materials are included. The instructor will notify each student ahead of time for
additional materials.

Learn the basics of machine sewing, as well as hand
stitching. You’ll learn how to work with patterns, choose
fabrics and achieve perfect seams. Start a first time project

machine, pattern of your choosing (project does not need
to be completed in our one day class-project may be taken home), fabric for your pattern
project, thread, straight pins and scissors.

Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game.
Participants (Geocachers) use a Global Positioning
System (GPS) receiver (your smart phone) to hide and seek containers (called “geocaches”
or “caches”) anywhere in the world. The locations of these geocaches are given as latitude
and longitude coordinates and there are more than 250,000 geocaches in more than 200
countries. Discuss the types of things you might find in a cache and then go off-site to find
some of our local caches!

raising poultry and waterfowl on a small to medium
scale. Learn about housing, rearing chicks, and
processing. Discuss feed, nutrition, supplements,
and winter vs. summer rations. Explore the basics of
diseases and find out where to get material to prevent
and treat diseases and maintain bird health. Bring your
questions.

This class will show you how to troubleshoot your
controller to discover just where in the system the
problem is originating. Zone valve theory will be
discussed.
Delta & Montrose Area Students
Are you ready to start your university journey but temporarily need to
remain in the Delta/Montrose area? Western and DMTC have partnered
to offer University courses in Delta this spring! Begin your journey with
one of Colorado’s Colleges of Distinction that offers a top-notch four-year,
liberal arts education and excellent graduate programs.
Now you can take classes at Delta Montrose Technical College and receive
credit towards a degree from Western State Colorado University! We are
now offering the opportunity for Delta and Montrose students to take six
different courses at the DMTC campus that will count as Western credits
starting this spring.
About the Program:
Students may now take courses on the DMTC campus that will earn
credits towards a 4-year degree from Western State Colorado University.
Evening and weekend classes are available to offer flexibility with
individual students' schedules. Courses start January 11, 2016, and run
12 to 16 weeks (depending upon the course taken). Fill out the online
