This could be in the form of a logo on a football, signs at an event or free advertising in the newsletter. Sponsorship often seems to be a rather elusive subject for sports clubs, but the principles are really quite simple. Large-scale commercial sponsorship is the preserve of big sports organisations seeking to negotiate TV and media rights, sportswear deals, track-side advertising, and similar arrangements for significant sums of money. This is usually beyond the reach of local sports clubs. However, there are many other smaller opportunities to attract financial sponsorship. It is good business practice to create a sponsorship policy within the organisation before you apply for sponsorship. This will help clarify expectations regarding sponsorship deals particularly for members. Increasingly local organisations are finding more innovative and mixed approaches to fundraising. Aiding Innovative this are a number of websites dedicated to allowing organisations to showcase their need for funding and seek investment. fundraising: Crowdfunding and www.Localgiving.com – through this website pre-approved organisations can advertise their need for local giving funding and local people can search for good charitable causes to donate to. It is effectively a matching service and allows advertising of good causes. Organisations will need to go to a ‘vetting’ process, and there is a charge of £60 per year + VAT. www.dsr.nsw.gov.au/sportsclubs/ryc_sp onsor_about.asp www.buzzle.com/articles/sponsorshipproposal-template.html www.dsr.nsw.gov.au/sportsclubs/ryc_sp onsor_prop.asp www.hockey.ie/contentPage/100141/spo nsorship_packages www.Localgiving.com www.crowdfunder.co.uk www.buzzbnk.org www.spacehive.com www.fundingcircle.com www.angelinvestmentnetwork.co.uk www.sponsume.com www.crowdfunder.co.uk http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/ Crowdfunding is a relatively new phenomenon raising funds from a crowd of people, or the crowd.
