Help the Homeless provides a grant scheme to support small and medium‐sized UK charities that work to help homeless people rebuild their lives and re‐enter society. The scheme will principally fund capital costs, but may consider revenue costs if necessary to the project. Funding is targeted at projects to find practical ways to help disadvantaged individuals return to the community through training or residential facility provision, rather than merely providing short term shelter. Foyle Foundation The Foyle Foundation’s Small Grants programme aims to support smaller charities (those with an income under £100,000) in the UK, particularly those working at grassroots / local community level, in a wide range of activities. Larger or national charities will normally not be considered under this scheme. They also tend not to support those which have built up unrestricted reserves of over 3 months or who regularly generate a surplus. They award one year grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 (No multi‐year funding awards are made). Successful applicants need to demonstrate that a grant will make a significant difference to their work. Demonstrating ongoing sustainability is also important, particularly if the organisation has recently lost local authority or other regular funding.
