I have been awarded the Certificate of Teaching and the Advanced Performance Certificate from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and have recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD). I am currently studying for the LTCL and LRSM performance diplomas on viola. WORK HISTORY: From Sept 1999 Joined Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) Music Service, working in primary and secondary schools in the local area, including group teaching and ensemble coaching. From Jan 1998 Set-up, managed and play in Bath Spa String Quartet on a professional basis. Duties include phoning and meeting clients, organising the diary, administrative tasks, booking musicians, advertising and promotion of the quartet, educational outreach presentations and organising concerts. 1998 - 2002 Organised and taught a “String Days” course for children and adults from beginners up to Grade 8. Courses took place annually in the summer holidays. From Sept 1992 Private teaching practice: adults and children from beginner to advanced level, practising as a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM). PERFORMING EXPERIENCE: My orchestral experience has involved playing with Bath Philharmonia, Bath Baroque, New Bristol Sinfonia and numerous freelance work with orchestras and pit bands within London, Wiltshire, Somerset and Leicestershire. I have accompanied the East London Sinfonia on two tours of Tuscany and Hampshire Sinfonietta on two tours to the Dordogne. I have had several years of orchestral experience as part of my youth orchestra and with RWCMD. I recently joined Bath Symphony Orchestra on viola and I regularly play with the London Repertoire Orchestra (LRO) & the Rehearsal Orchestra as part of my ongoing professional development. Having played in quartets since 1998, I have a wealth of experience in playing chamber music and performing with quartets for events and concerts. In addition, I have given solo recitals on violin and viola.
