accommodate team overflow. The league will use its discretion when making changes to days and times but
will try and stick to the days listed below. Teams from one rink may end up combining with teams from

against. DPSC reserves the right to change scheduled days/times in order to improve scheduling.

It will take a matter of minutes and you will be on your way.
Do I need to bring the card to every game?
YES – All Players participating in the C, D, (and D2 leagues) will be REQUIRED to bring their VIP Card to

Team Assignment:
Players can’t play on two (2) teams at the same level in the same league. Players may play in 2 leagues but it can’t be
in more than 1 level apart. For example a player can’t play in the B League and the D-League but he can play in B
League and the C League. HOWEVER: The DPSC reserves the right to move any player deemed to be too skilled for
a particular league based on the judgment of the DPSC Hockey Staff.
Rosters:
Teams may have a maximum of 25 players on the official roster but can only dress up to 20 players max, including
goalies, for a game. All requests for roster additions require that the player register with the team on-line and
that the league and the league has a 72-hour notice
Once the official team rosters are entered into Pointstreak teams will have until November 21 to question the skill
level of a particular player on the original roster. Players added after the original roster is entered may be
subject to a skill assessment at any time but once a player has been verified and approved by the DPSC-Hockey
staff the player will be eligible for the season.
Team coordinators take full responsibility for the team. Coordinators are expected to collect all registration
forms and payments, enforce all SSHL game rules and suspensions and communicate all information regarding
play.
Coordinators will also be responsible for completing a line up sheet to be turned into the scorekeeper prior to
each game. This is important to keep accurate stats on players (especially tracking games played).
PAYMENT
It is the responsibility of the team coordinator to set up his/her team account in Pointstreak. Each player
must be listed and assigned a dollar amount that the player is responsible for paying. The total of that $
amount will equal the team fee for the league.
**Additional Information to be added**
Individuals Looking To Play on a Team
Individuals looking to play on a team are required to submit a registration form/waiver with payment. The local
hockey manager may set up an open evaluation skate and you’ll be asked to come out and show your skills. Team
Representatives, in need of players, will be invited out to the evaluation where they will have an opportunity to see
you and add you to the team. After you have been picked up by a team, you will be required to register online with
USA Hockey.
USA Hockey
USA Hockey has initiated an online registration process for players. As a part of this new process every SSHL
player is required to go online to register with USA Hockey. This registration will enable the USA Hockey
insurance and many other benefits. The registration process is a requirement for each player within the Senior
Stars Hockey League. Any player not registered with USA Hockey can’t participate in the league. There is an
additional fee that must be paid directly to USA Hockey at the time you register. All players, including
coordinators, subs, goalies, and each player on the roster must register online with USA Hockey. There are
specific registration instructions in the accompanying memorandum.
Rules
It is each player’s responsibility to know the rules. The coordinator for each team will receive a copy of the SSHL
Rules and Regulations packet prior to the start of the season. We will also have copies of the SSHL Rules and
Regulations at the front desk and posted online. All SSHL Leagues at all Dr Pepper StarCenters will follow the
same rules this season.
Game Format
► 5-minute warm up
► Each period will be fifteen (15) minutes in length
► Run time occurs when:
6 goal or larger lead in the 3rd period
15 penalties occur during the game regardless of period
► No game shall end in a tie. If a game is tied at the end of regulation then a five on five, 5-minute running clock,
sudden death OT will be played. If the game remains tied at the end of OT then a 3-man shootout will determine
the winner. If the game remains tied after each team has had 3 shots then the shootout will revert to sudden
death with each team having an equal number of shots. No player who was serving a penalty at the end of overtime
may participate in the shootout. In any one shootout all players, except goaltenders, must shoot once before a
