DR PEPPER STARCENTER’S 2012-2013 Fall-Winter Season October – June 30-Game Schedule + Playoffs The Senior Stars Hockey League (SSHL), the official adult hockey league of the Dallas Stars, is ready to “light the lamp” for its 2012-2013 fall-winter season. Facility Leagues offered Farmers Branch A, B, C & D Frisco B, C & D Euless B, C & D McKinney C & D Plano A, C & D D2 leagues offered at each rink – separate informational The Following Chart shows what days are assigned for each league. Additional days may be required to accommodate team overflow. The league will use its discretion when making changes to days and times but will try and stick to the days listed below. Teams from one rink may end up combining with teams from other rinks, which will give us the opportunity for better competition, better times, and more teams to play against. DPSC reserves the right to change scheduled days/times in order to improve scheduling. COST PER TEAM The cost per team is based on the facility you play at Farmers Branch Frisco McKinney Plano Euless $8,700 ($7200 for A) $8,700 $8,700 $8,700 ($7200 for A) $8,200 Complimentary Dallas Stars Ticket Package When your team completes the registration process, on time, including full payment, the coordinator will receive a Dallas Stars ticket Mini-Plan including 2, LOWER BOWL or PLATINUM, (based on availability), tickets for 4, (FOUR), Dallas Stars games. The tickets will be distributed in the form of vouchers with a selection of games to choose from so you can avoid conflicts with your SSHL schedule. The available games will be made available once the final schedule is released by the NHL. In Addition teams will have a TEAM OUTING to a Stars Game!! Team Appreciation Games (team picks one game below…30 tickets for the team to that game ): The available games will be made available once the final schedule is released by the NHL. USA HOCKEY Insurance All players are required to register online with USA Hockey – by going to www.usah.org. A current USAH registration will be required to register on-line with the SSHL. Players not registered with USA Hockey will not be allowed to participate in the league. SSHL VIP PHOTO ID’S Every player participating in the SSHL will require a VIP photo ID card for the purpose of identification. Once the team has full registered then players can begin to get their cards: VIP PHOTO ID CARD Your photo ID card will also serve as your VIP card, which means additional benefits for you. Log on to www.drpepperstarcenter.com for a list of benefits. Where do I get my VIP photo ID card? VIP/ID card are made at the front desk in every DPSC location. Is there an additional cost for the VIP photo ID card? No, there is no additional cost. How long does it take to get the VIP photo ID card? It will take a matter of minutes and you will be on your way. Do I need to bring the card to every game? YES – All Players participating in the C, D, (and D2 leagues) will be REQUIRED to bring their VIP Card to each game. This card will determine each player’s eligibility and registration in the SSHL. All players will be required to obtain a new SSHL VIP Card for the 2012-2013 season. Team Assignment: Players can’t play on two (2) teams at the same level in the same league. Players may play in 2 leagues but it can’t be in more than 1 level apart. For example a player can’t play in the B League and the D-League but he can play in B League and the C League. HOWEVER: The DPSC reserves the right to move any player deemed to be too skilled for a particular league based on the judgment of the DPSC Hockey Staff. Rosters: Teams may have a maximum of 25 players on the official roster but can only dress up to 20 players max, including goalies, for a game. All requests for roster additions require that the player register with the team on-line and that the league and the league has a 72-hour notice Once the official team rosters are entered into Pointstreak teams will have until November 21 to question the skill level of a particular player on the original roster. Players added after the original roster is entered may be subject to a skill assessment at any time but once a player has been verified and approved by the DPSC-Hockey staff the player will be eligible for the season. Team coordinators take full responsibility for the team. Coordinators are expected to collect all registration forms and payments, enforce all SSHL game rules and suspensions and communicate all information regarding play. Coordinators will also be responsible for completing a line up sheet to be turned into the scorekeeper prior to each game. This is important to keep accurate stats on players (especially tracking games played). PAYMENT It is the responsibility of the team coordinator to set up his/her team account in Pointstreak. Each player must be listed and assigned a dollar amount that the player is responsible for paying. The total of that $ amount will equal the team fee for the league. **Additional Information to be added** Individuals Looking To Play on a Team Individuals looking to play on a team are required to submit a registration form/waiver with payment. The local hockey manager may set up an open evaluation skate and you’ll be asked to come out and show your skills. Team Representatives, in need of players, will be invited out to the evaluation where they will have an opportunity to see you and add you to the team. After you have been picked up by a team, you will be required to register online with USA Hockey. USA Hockey USA Hockey has initiated an online registration process for players. As a part of this new process every SSHL player is required to go online to register with USA Hockey. This registration will enable the USA Hockey insurance and many other benefits. The registration process is a requirement for each player within the Senior Stars Hockey League. Any player not registered with USA Hockey can’t participate in the league. There is an additional fee that must be paid directly to USA Hockey at the time you register. All players, including coordinators, subs, goalies, and each player on the roster must register online with USA Hockey. There are specific registration instructions in the accompanying memorandum. Rules It is each player’s responsibility to know the rules. The coordinator for each team will receive a copy of the SSHL Rules and Regulations packet prior to the start of the season. We will also have copies of the SSHL Rules and Regulations at the front desk and posted online. All SSHL Leagues at all Dr Pepper StarCenters will follow the same rules this season. Game Format ► 5-minute warm up ► Each period will be fifteen (15) minutes in length ► Run time occurs when: 6 goal or larger lead in the 3rd period 15 penalties occur during the game regardless of period ► No game shall end in a tie. If a game is tied at the end of regulation then a five on five, 5-minute running clock, sudden death OT will be played. If the game remains tied at the end of OT then a 3-man shootout will determine the winner. If the game remains tied after each team has had 3 shots then the shootout will revert to sudden death with each team having an equal number of shots. No player who was serving a penalty at the end of overtime may participate in the shootout.
