2014 BPI Search for the Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children
GUIDELINES 1. What are the categories at stake? Ten awardees will be declared.
a. Seven (7) to be declared for the Ibang Klaseng Talino Award.
b. Three (3) to be declared for the following categories:
•Ibang Klaseng Community Leader
•Ibang Klaseng Entrepreneur
•Ibang Klaseng Artist/Athlete
2. Who are qualified to join? Son/daughter of an Overseas Filipino
Worker (with a current work contract abroad) meeting the following
qualifications:
a. High school graduate and is currently enrolled in at least a fouryear college course.
b. With no failing grade. Applicant for academic excellence must
comply with the grade requirement.
c. Not more than 21 years old.
d. Applicant or his parents/immediate family member must have a
deposit account with BPI, BPI Direct, or BPI Family Savings Bank.
e. Not a relative of a BPI Unibank employee up to the third degree
of affinity and consanguinity.
3.How do you submit your application? Application should be
submitted online through this link http://bit.ly/BPIAnakExpat
a. Fully accomplished application form.
b. Certified true copy of grades for school year (SY) March 2013–
June 2014 indicating the general weighted average expressed in
absolute amount (such as 95%, 89%, etc) that is authenticated
certified true and correct by the school administrator or dean of
college.
c. Proof of enrolment for SY 2014 - 2015.
d. Certificate of Good Moral Character from school.
e. Certified true copy of birth certificate.
f. Proof of involvement or membership in non-academic activities,
community or civic works covering special citations or awards
in sports and the arts; proof of membership in school clubs/
organizations and civic organizations. Covers membership in
2013 and 2014 ONLY.
g. Work contract or proof of overseas employment of overseas
Filipino parent.
h. Form certification that applicant, parent or immediate family
member has a deposit account with BPI, BPI Direct or BPI Family
Savings Bank.
i. Requirements/proof specific to the category one wishes to enter.

4.What are the selection criteria?
4.1 For the Ibang Klaseng Talino Award:
Academic excellence*70%
Non-academic (sports, community etc.)

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA FOR:
Ibang Klaseng Community Leader
(Excellence in community leadership)
Criteria: Must be an officer or active member of a duly recognized or
accredited community-based organization.
Ibang Klaseng Entrepreneur
(Excellence in managing his/her own business)
Criteria: Must be a registered owner (sole proprietor, partnership or
corporation) of any business duly registered at the SEC or DTI.
Ibang Klaseng Artist/Athlete
(Excellence in the Arts and Sports)
Criteria: Must have received an award or high recognition from a duly
recognized, widely-known award-giving body on the arts and sports.
5.Applicant can only join in one (1) category
6.Applicant will be asked to submit an Essay to be written in Filipino or
English, and must contain a minimum of 200 but 300 words.
The criteria for judging the essay are:
a. Relevance : 10 points
b. Presentation and Style : 5 points
c. Grammar : 5 points
7.All applications must be received by the Program Secretariat via
http://bit.ly/BPIAnakExpat on or before October 25, 2014.
8.Each awardee will receive a cash prize of Fifty Thousand Philippine
Pesos (Php50,000.00) credited to a BPI Account.
9.The winners of the Search will be notified via registered or electronic
mail.
