The guardian of the carrots Once upon a time there was a little rabbit, living in a hole full of carrots. One day, entering his hole, the rabbit discovered the bad rat eating nearly all of the carrots the rabbit had collected. The little rabbit remembered the old wise owl, who lived in a big tree nearby and asked for help. The owl offered him to protect his carrots. “If you promise to me three worms a day, I will ensure you that I will look after your carrots.” Hopefully the rabbit agreed. “Take my feather as a symbol of our agreement,” said the wise old owl. The rabbit went home pleased. A few days later when the wise owl safeguarded the hole of the rabbit, the bad rat appeared. Since their agreement the rabbit had brought the worms punctually every day and therefore the owl ate the bad rat after a bloody wild fight. Finally the rabbit had nothing to fear anymore and lived … his life happily ever after.
