Edinburgh / Glencoe / Loch Ness
01
As you set off from charmingly historic Edinburgh, you’ll hear tales of
William Wallace as you pass Stirling and into Rob Roy Country where
the lowlands dramatically change into the Highlands. Surrounded
by a whirlwind of raw Scottish beauty, you’ll pass dramatic Glencoe,
besieged by soaring mountains and greenery. This national treasure
has been the star of many movies, including Harry Potter. Glencoe
also has a blood-thirsty tale behind it as it’s the site of the Glencoe
Massacre between rival Highland clans. As you delve deeper into the
heartland, you’ll witness the Great Glen and Fort Augustus on the
shores of Loch Ness, where you’ll spend the night. Deep, dark and
narrow Loch Ness stretches for 23 miles between Inverness and Fort
Augustus and its bitterly-cold waters have been extensively explored
in search of ‘Nessie’, the Loch Ness Monster.
Isle of Skye
02
A day exploring the stunning Isle of Skye with its myths, legends and
fairy stories. The cloud-shaped Isle is the largest and most northerly
of the Inner Hebrides. With its brooding Cuillin Hills, spectacularly
rugged cliffs and wonderfully weathered coastline, it’s sure to have
you under its alluring spell. Then it’s back to the mainland past
effortlessly photogenic Eilean Donan Castle. This little beauty is
nestled on an offshore islet, linked to the mainland by an elegant,
stone-arched bridge.
