Consequences will be issued for infractions within the classroom. 1st infraction – verbal/documented warning 2nd infraction –15 min. detention & parent contact 3rd infraction –30 min. detention & parent contact 4th infraction or conduct violation – immediate office referral Cheating / Plagiarism SSHS values honesty and integrity. Any type of cheating, including plagiarism, is not condoned or tolerated at SSHS. Cheating is the inappropriate use of another’s materials in order to complete student work. Plagiarism is the use of another person’s original ideas or writing as one’s own without giving credit to the true author. Plagiarism is considered cheating. Student(s) involved in a cheating incident shall be subject to disciplinary action that may include loss of credit for the work in question. Make up work: It will be your responsibility to check with me BEFORE or AFTER class for any missed handouts and notes. You must schedule an appointment with me to make up any missed labs, quizzes or tests. No grade will be given for work not completed. Cell phone policy: For safety purposes, the district permits students to possess personal mobile telephones; however, these devices must remain turned off and put away during the instructional day, including during all testing, unless they are being used for approved instructional purposes. If a student uses a telecommunications device without authorization during the school day, the device will be confiscated. The student may pick up the confiscated telecommunications device from the principal’s office for a fee of $15.
