Akita International University
Arrival Information - Spring Semester 2014 Akita International University (AIU) will provide a free pick-up service for new international students from Akita Airport,
JR Akita Station, and Hotel Plaza Crypton at the designated hours on Wednesday, April 2. You will then be taken to the
AIU campus to check into the campus housing.
AIU requests new students to arrive on AIU campus during the following check-in date/time:

Wednesday, April 2: 9:00 - 16:00
We strongly recommend that students arrive on AIU campus on Wednesday, April 2 for the orientation sessions,
starting from that day at 16:00. In case students are unable to arrive on AIU campus during the above official arrival
date and time due to the flight schedule etc., they are allowed to check-in to AIU’s on-campus housing on the day
before the official arrival day, Tuesday, April 1 between 9:00-22:00,
Please submit the Arrival Form online by March 15. The form is available on each student’s Study Abroad Progress page
in the online application system. The log-in page of the online application system is at https://abroad.aiu.ac.jp/.
Notes:
* You cannot check in to AIU on-campus housing before Tuesday, April 1.
* We will not run the pick-up buses for slots which were not reserved by any student.

AIU staff will be in front of arrival gate for pick-up. You will not miss the AIU staff because there is only one domestic
arrival gate and one international arrival gate.

If you reserve a seat for AIU’s pick-up service at JR Akita Station, our bus will be at the bus stop No. 5 at the bus
station near the East Exit as below.
2) Walk toward to the EAST EXIT and go down to the
first floor.
1) After you exit the Central Gate, turn LEFT and go to
EAST EXIT.
3) Once you are out from the EAST EXIT, turn LEFT
and go to No. 5 bus stop.

just in case.

There is another university called “Akita University”, so please make sure to tell the driver “Akita International
