The ADL office also performs activities within the joint training and knowledge environment, including facilitation of eLearning course production, Member’s Portal training and support for the use of collaborative environment technologies, international eLearning efforts, outreach, and project planning. NATO SCHOOL eLEARNING: The NATO SCHOOL Oberammergau ADL office offers over 40 online courses in support of the resident curriculum. The School’s eLearning Programme focusses on a two level approach: R FOUNDATION COURSES R LEARNING ENHANCEMENT COURSES FOUNDATION COURSES support the School’s residential instruction. Each Foundation Course is specifically tailored to a resident course, allowing students to gain basic information or refresh awareness on the resident instruction to be received in Oberammergau. Foundation Courses aim to prepare students as active and informed participants during courses discussions and syndicate work. LEARNING ENHANCEMENT COURSES offer broader NATO topics of interest, expanding accessibility to Alliance interests such as Combating Trafficking in Human Beings. Additionally, Learning Enhancement Courses offer professional development subjects such as the NATO Procurement and Contracting course series. COLLABORATIVE LEARNING – NATO SCHOOL MEMBERS PORTAL: ADL trains and supports the communities of practice hosted on the School’s Members Portal. The portal is an online collaborative environment, which enables interactivity and allows members to create and find information. Additionally course directors use the portal to support their students’ course preparation by offering online read-ahead packages and exercise scenarios which are used later in the courses.
