The information in this section is regarding specific college scholarships. These scholarships are only
available for students who plan on attending that particular college/university/vocational school. You
must apply for admissions to the specific school/college/university by the deadline and acceptance will be
a final qualifier. However, you should apply for these scholarships before you are accepted to the college,
university, or vocational school. Check with the financial aid office of the College or University you have

ABILENE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY: Presidential Scholarship: Incoming freshmen may qualify for the
prestigious 4-year college Presidential Scholarship valued at half-tuition. Students compete amongst the top
academic incoming freshmen. Must complete ACU’s admissions process by Nov 1.

ALPHA GAMMA RHO SCHOLARSHIPS: For students planning on attending California State University,
Fresno, Colorado State University, University of Arizona, and specific other colleges and universities. Many
chapters of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity offer scholarships, and in some cases, being a member or becoming a
member is not required to be eligible.

ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY NEW AMERICAN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS: For out-of-state
incoming freshmen, based on unweighted gpa, class rank and test scores, scholarships range from $4,000$13,000 per year. Students automatically considered for this award when they are admitted to ASU. Students

ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY’S ONLINE BACHELOR’S DEGREE STARBUCKS CORP.
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT: Open to Starbucks employees, Starbucks will give about $6,500 a year in
tuition reimbursement to employees who enroll in Arizona State University’s online bachelor’s degree
programs for their first two years. (That will cover roughly half of the tuition costs). Starbucks will offer full
reimbursement to employees in their junior and senior years.
ART INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION: Open to high school seniors and international students
graduating in 2014. Each Art Institute school will award a partial tuition scholarship up to $18,600 for a bachelor’s
degree program (up to 20%) and $8,845 (up to 15%) for an associate’s degree program to a student who demonstrates
ability and commitment to succeed in a creative career. Scholarship awards are based on quality of projects submitted by

ART INSTITUTE FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA (FBLA) SCHOLARSHIP: Awarded to high
school seniors graduating in 2014 who are members of FBLA. Three $10,000 to $15,000 tuition scholarships to study at
one of the Art Institutes schools will be awarded. Each scholarship award recipient who has a 3.0 GPA during their first

BIOLA UNIVERSITY: Trustee’s Scholarship $12,000/year; President’s Scholarship $10,000/year;

BOSTON UNIVERSITY: Presidential Scholarship, a $20,000 renewable tuition scholarship for students
with exceptional academic records. No additional essays or nominations are required. However, the award

BUTTE COMMUNITY COLLEGE FEE WAIVER SCHOLARSHIPS: Each semester $1,000 fee waiver
scholarships are awarded to multiple international students! Scholarships are not awarded based on grades
alone! Students will be asked to complete the fee waiver scholarship application and provide detailed
information about their leadership experience, academic achievements, and financial need. A Student Education

CALIFORNIA LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY: Presidential Scholarships range from $17,000 to full tuition
for 4 years. These students represent the top tier of the graduating high school seniors and embody the
university’s educational and leadership goals. Applicants must meet the early action application deadline of
November 1. Academic Scholarships range from $8,000 to $20,000 and are based upon the student’s
academic record including GPA and test scores. CLU Guarantee is a cost matching scholarship available for
students who are admitted to UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UC Berkeley or UC Davis making the award amount about
$20,856.

CALIFORNIA – MIDDLE CLASS SCHOLARSHIP: New, transfer and returning undergraduate students to
CSU’s or UC’s with family income and assets at $150,000 or less may be eligible. Must be a U.S. citizen,
eligible non-citizen, or have AB 540 status; be a California resident or exempt from pay nonresident tuition;

maintain a 2.0 GPA; meet certain income and other financial aid standards. Must complete FAFSA or
California Dream Act & submit Cal Grant GPA starting January 1. Check with each college for deadlines. The
scholarships are based on a sliding scale according to family income. Amounts may vary by student and
institution. The scholarship amount is limited to no more than 40% of the amount of your institution’s systemwide tuition. Students whose families earn up to $100k per year are eligible for up to a 20% tuition/fee discount
and students whose families earn up to $150k per year are eligible for no less than 10% tuition/fee discount. In
2017-18, the maximum scholarship award will be 40% of the mandatory system wide tuition and fees.
Maximum awards in 2014/2015 were $1,710 at UC and $768 at CSU. Maximum awards expected for 2015/16
are $2,448 at UC and $1,092 at CSU.

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM WIDE: The California State University Foundation works
with donors interested in funding scholarship opportunities on a system wide basis. Currently, the CSU

CAL POLY, POMONA HONORS SCHOLARS: Honors Fellowship Scholarship – Students who are
admitted to the Kellogg Honors College will be considered for the Honors Fellowship Scholarship
automatically. The Collins College of Hospitality Management offers about $100,000 in scholarships each
year. Robert Noyce Scholarship Program for Math and Science Teachers seeks to encourage talented
science, technology, engineering, and math majors who might otherwise not have considered teaching
profession, particularly those from underrepresented groups. The scholarship award is for a maximum of 2

CAL POLY, SAN LUIS OBISPO: The Elizabeth E. Chrones Scholarship supports students enrolled in the
College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences from rural areas of California (as identified by the
United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development). Besides completing an application and being
accepted to Cal Poly, SLO, must complete and submit a FAFSA. Aside from the Elizabeth Chrones
Scholarship, there are more than 650 scholarships ranging from $300 to a full funded education and are granted
based on financial need, merit, or a combination of both as well as activities/honors, community service and
employment. Some may be renewed annually. Awards recognize students for their excellence or
accomplishments in a specific area during the academic year. Typically awards are smaller financial
increments with a maximum award amount of $300.

FRESNO STATE UNIVERSITY: CSU Fresno awards over a 1,000 scholarships totaling more than 3.8
million dollars to incoming & continuing students ranging from $100 to almost $12,000. Scholarships are
offered by various colleges, departments, and organizations to students who meet specific criteria. Regardless
of your accomplishments, interests, background, or G.P.A., all students are encouraged to apply for

FRESNO STATE UNIVERSITY: Smittcamp Honors College offers President’s Honors Program to
graduating high school seniors who have a SAT score of 1800 or more or ACT average score of 27 in English
and Math, in the upper 10% of their class, and have a GPA of 3.8 or higher. Besides applying to Fresno State
(CSU application) by November 30, you must apply to the Fresno State Scholarships as well as the Smittcamp
Family Honors College President’s Honors Scholarship. Along with full in-state undergraduate tuition, the
scholarship includes credit for a community style room in a campus residence hall and the privileges of 25student limit honors classes, individual study and advising from honors professors, priority registration, regular

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, LONG BEACH: Presidential Program offered to students with a
GPA of 4.0. Must be either a Valedictorian or National Merit Semi-Finalists/Finalists, National Achievement
Program Semifinalists/Finalists and National Hispanic Recognition Scholars. This 4-year scholarship covers

full-tuition and general student fees, paid housing in campus residence hall, sponsored meal plan (for National
Scholars only), annual book allowance, campus student parking privileges, four-year degree completion option,
and opportunity for international study abroad programs (as long as you maintain eligibility). Submit

students to contribute $9,400 (half from student loans and the other half from either employment or savings) no
matter what the FAFSA determines is the family expected contribution or the student contribution.
UC REGENTS SCHOLARSHIPS: Regents Scholarships are merit scholarships, selected on the basis of
academic excellence. Depending upon the campus, annual Regents Scholarship awards range from $1,000
honoraria to stipends that cover full financial need for students who qualify for financial aid.
At most campuses, UC ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS: are honorary scholarships, so financial need is not a
consideration. Awards range from $300 to $15,000 and, at some campuses, are renewable annually for qualified
candidates. You do not need to be a relative of an alumnus (a graduate of the University of California) to
qualify for an Alumni Scholarship.

is a four-year renewable scholarship of up to $6,000. The Leadership Scholarship is one of the most prestigious
merit-based scholarships at UC Berkeley which recognizes students who demonstrate innovative, motivational
leadership impacting their academic, work, or community environments. It requires a minimum 3.3 gpa, an
interview, and is a one-year scholarship, however, you may re-apply for the scholarship each year. $1,500

UC BERKELEY MIDDLE CLASS ACCESS PLAN (MCAP): The Berkeley Middle Class Access Plan
(MCAP) is a new financial aid program to help middle-class families pay for the growing cost of an
undergraduate degree. For families whose gross income ranges from $80,000 to $140,000 annually and who
have typical assets, the groundbreaking plan caps the contribution parents make toward the total annual cost of
a UC Berkeley student’s education at a maximum of 15 percent of their total income. Many parents in this

1360 SAT (Critical Reading and Math and a 3.5 min GPA. Ten fellows are selected each year. Recipients will

WILLAMETTE UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS: Willamette University awards a number of merit-based
scholarships each year to the entering students who have secondary academic records of the highest merit.
All admitted applicants are automatically considered for these merit-based scholarships - additional materials
are not required. Scholarship determination is made on the strength of an applicant's academic
achievements, weighing such factors as GPA, strength of the curriculum, and test scores. Significant cocurricular and extracurricular accomplishments are also considered as part of the overall decision.
Willamette also offers some Talent Scholarships, which are offered in the areas of music, theatre, and forensics,
and require auditions and/or special recommendation in order to be considered. The Mark O. Hatfield
Scholarship is offered in recognition of outstanding commitment to public service, and requires the completion
of a separate application form. Other merit-based scholarships are awarded in partnership with community
organizations or in recognition of nationally competitive scholar designations like: Black United Fund

Access Scholarship: For first-time freshmen who have been admitted to any UC as well. They will receive A
WJU education for the cost of a UC. Department Scholarship: Amount Varies, first-time freshmen
candidates will be invited around January 1 to answer an essay question. Diversity Grant: Up to $4,000/year,
competitive based on financial need, academic achievement and demonstrated leadership and vision through
