Scope and Objective of the Course: The course is specially designed to provide an opportunity to the students for development of their academic skills, logical thinking etc., through open - ended study oriented activities. 2. Catalogue / Bulletin Description: This course includes a project which is oriented towards readings from published literature or books about new frontiers of development or analysis of available database. The course is usually available to students in third or higher levels. The course must co-terminate with project report. 3. Course Outcomes: The student submits a project report which is a culmination of reading, studying and assimilating literature in his area of study which should also include: elements of Design / Simulation / Modeling. Since his/her professional career commonly demands frequent report submission for time-bound projects, this course will also instill in him/her a sense of time management. 4. Relationship of Course to Program Outcomes: Identification of an appropriate topic of study in new frontiers of development is the first major goal. The course should help the student in honing theirs skills at literature survey, problem identification, and report writing. Periodic report submissions and seminar presentations go a long way in achieving this goal. 5. Plan of Work: Ensure that the title of the Project along with the plan of the proposed work should be submitted in the prescribed proforma. It is also expected that the student adheres to this plan of work and submits periodic reports of the progress of the work carried out by the end of every month and an explicit statement on the work to be carried out further. 6. Mid-semester Grading: Mid-Semester grading will be done on the basis of the components Evaluation I and Evaluation II of the scheme given above. 8. Grading Procedure: In addition to what is mentioned in Part I, the grading will be done mainly on the basis of the progress made towards attainment of the project objectives and will recognize that each Instructor has given specific task situation in which the student participates in a cognitive manner. Thus, each Instructor will recommend a grade for his/her student for the consideration of the Instructor-in-Charge. In a specialized course of this nature the respective Instructor's assessment of the student vis-a-vis the objective of the project would be the central criteria for arriving at final grade. 9. General: It is the student's responsibility to ensure: Continuous interaction with the Instructor. Work to the satisfaction of the Instructor Adherence to plan of work. Evaluation(s) are completed by the due date and evaluation marks are uploaded / communicated to the Instructor-in-Charge by due date. 10. Project Reports Submissions: 1. Only a soft copy of the mid-semester report is to be submitted to the Instructor. 2. A soft copy of the final report (in MS Word) is to be uploaded to the Projects Portal by the Instructor with the "digital receipt" and summary pages of the turnitin report included at the end of the report. 3. The complete turnitin report (in PDF) is to be submitted only to the Instructor. 4. A hard copy of the final report is to be submitted only to the Instructor with the "digital receipt" and summary pages of the turnitin report included at the end of the report. 5. A hard copy of the cover page, title page, abstract sheet and summary of the turnitin report should be submitted to the Instructor-in-Charge. 6. The complete soft copy of turnitin originality report should be preserved as it is in turnitin portal: should not be overwritten by reports of other courses or other students. The electronic form of the report should exactly match the hard copy. The final report should have the same title as submitted by you along with approved the plan of work. 10. Notices: All notices pertaining to this course will be put up in the Projects Portal.
