Scope and Objective of the course: It aims at developing the skills for operating, maintaining and developing software in innovative areas and R & D activities of the Institute. As a part of education, this project course follows a method of learning and, therefore, the student's actual day-to-day task involvement would constitute the central thread of the learning process. The evaluation will recognize this aspect by demanding day-to-day productivity and punctuality of the student. 2. Course Plan: The plan of work for each student will be decided by the respective Instructors. Final Seminar and Viva Examiner(s) 20 06.06.2013 * ** Evaluation I Final Evaluation It is recommended that Mid-semester Report is submitted to turnitin for an initial check – this is meant for enabling student and faculty to proactively identify problems with no penalty being attached. Student should make the first submission of the Final Report to turnitin by 23/05/2013. This is to avoid delays due to turnitin limitation of generating reports for resubmissions. 4. Mid-semester grading: Mid-semester grading will be done on the basis of the components Evaluation 1 and Evaluation 2 components of the evaluation scheme. 5. Grading Procedure: In addition to what is mentioned in Part I of handout, the grading will be done mainly on the basis of the progress made towards attainment of the project objectives and will recognize that each Instructor has given specific task situation in which the student participates in a cognitive manner. Thus, each Instructor will recommend a grade for his student for the consideration of the Instructor-in-charge. In a specialized course of this nature the respective Instructor's assessment of the student vis-à-vis the objective of the project would be the central criterion for arriving at final grade. Tools like Turnitin will be used to ensure originality of report. 6. Notices: All notices pertaining to this course will be put up in the Projects Portal. 7. General It is the student’s responsibility to ensure: Continuous interaction with the Instructor. Work to the satisfaction of the instructor. Submitting/uploading plan of work, written presentations, final report etc. to the instructors. Adherence to plan of work. Evaluation(s) to be completed by the due date and evaluation marks are uploaded/communicated to the Instructor-in-Charge by due date. 8. Project Reports submissions 1. Only a soft copy of the midsemester report is to be uploaded by the faculty supervisor to the Projects Portal. 2. A soft copy of the final report (in MS Word) is to be uploaded to the Projects Portal by faculty supervisor with the Summary Pages and Digital Receipt of the turnitin report included at the end of the report. 3. A hard copy of the final report is to be submitted to the faculty supervisor with the Summary Pages and Digital Receipt of the turnitin report included at the end of the report. 4. The complete soft copy of turnitin report (in PDF) is only to be submitted to the supervisor. 5. The complete soft copy of turnitin originality report should be preserved as is in turnitin portal: should not be overwritten by reports of other courses or other students. The electronic form of the report should exactly match the hard copy. The final report should have the same title as submitted by you along with the approved plan of work.
