When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:

Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
Remove all plastic packaging and other materials from unit before operating.
Wash all removable accessories before using for the first time.
Unit should be turned on to MAX temperature for 10 minutes for the first time to
burn off any access manufacturing or packaging oils.
To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug or appliance itself in
water or other liquids.
Close supervision is necessary when appliance is used by or near children.
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the
nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may cause injuries.
Do not use outdoors.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table/counter or touch hot surfaces.
Do not place on or near a hot gas, electric burner, or in a heated oven.
Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into wall outlet. To disconnect,
turn control to OFF position, then remove plug from wall outlet.
Oversized foods or metal utensils must not be inserted in the appliance as they
may cause a fire or risk of electrical shock.
A fire may occur if the appliance is covered or touching flammable material
including curtains, draperies, walls and the like when in operation.
Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch
electrical parts, involving a risk of electrical shock.
Extreme caution should be exercised when using containers constructed of
material other than metal or glass.
Do not store any materials other than manufacturer's recommended accessories in
rice cooker when not in use.
Do not place any of the following materials in the rice cooker: Paper, cardboard,
plastic and the like.

Read all instructions thoroughly before operating.
Unpack the appliance and remove all packaging materials before operating.
Wipe all parts clean with a soft damp cloth and let dry thoroughly.
MEASURING RICE:

Measure out desired amount of rice. (See chart below)

Pour the rice into the removable rice container.

Fill the container with water, up to the water-line markings in the container.

(The maximum quantity of water and rice should not exceed the 10-cup
marking.)

Suggested Serving: For 1 - 2 people, pour in one cup of rice, and add one
and a half cups of water.

*Brown Rice: Water quantity should Increase by Y2 - cup to i-cup.
USING THE STEAMER:

The maximum quantity of water in the removable container should not exceed
the 6-cup marking. Exceeding this level will cause overflow.

Place food onto the steamer basket and set into the removable container over
the water.
(*Note: The steamer basket may be used at the same time rice is being cooked
inside the rice cooker, however, only when the rice quantity does not exceed 4cups.)
COOKING PREPARATION:

Make sure the exterior of the removable container is dry and clean of any food
particles or residue.

Place removable container into the rice cooker.
..
Slightly rotate the container in both directions, to ensure good contact between
the bottom of the container and the main heat source.

Make sure the Steam Shield is correctly in position.
..
Close and lock the lid.
..
Check that the condensation collector is correctly in place.
..
Plug in the appliance.
..
Start programming the rice cooker.

PROGRAMMING THE RICE COOKER:
The Rice Cooker is already pre-programmed with exact cooking times for White Rice,
Brown Rice, White/Brown rice with a crispy bottom, Quick Cook Rice, Soup, Stew &
Steam. See chart below:

When plugging in the Rice Cooker, the default setting will light up as White
Rice at 40-minutes cook time.
Press the [MENU] button to select the function you wish.
When the function is selected, press the [ON] button to activate the rice cool
To manually adjust the time by adding to the default cooking time, press the
[COOK TIME] button to increase the cooking time at 30-minute intervals.
(Note: For STEAMING, the cook time can be manually adjusted at i-minute
intervals)
*Avoid the steam ventilation outlet during the cooking process. This area may produc
very hot steam and may cause injury.

When cooking is complete, the Rice Cooker will automatically keep the food
warm. The KEEP WARM indicator light will illuminate.
For Soups/Stews and Steamed food, it is best not to keep contents warm
inside the appliance over i-hour.
For best results while cooking white / brown rice with a crispy bottom, we
suggested to add cooking oil to the bottom of the removable pot, before
placing the rice for cooking.
*Special notice: White / Brown rice with a crispy bottom after cooking, will
automatically go into the keep warm function, the longer it stays in the keep warm
function the darker and crisper the bottom of the rice will be.
PROGRAMMING DELAY COOKING TIME:
1) Press the [MENU] button to select the function first.
2) Then press the [START TIME] button to select the delay time you wish the r
cooker to start functioning. (Note: The Delay Time can be programmable up
12-hours in advance at 30-minute intervals.)
3) When the function and the delay time have been selected, press the [ON]
button to activate the rice cooker.
4) When cooking is complete, the Rice Cooker will automatically keep the food
warm. The KEEP WARM indicator light will illuminate.

For Soups/Stews and Steamed food, it is best not to keep the contents warm
inside the appliance over 1-hour.

PREPARING & COOKING SOUP:
Prepare ingredients for desired soup recipe.
Fill interior container with liquid such as water or broth and ingredients.
*Container should never be filled over the Level-1 a marking.
Close and lock the lid.
Plug in the appliance and start programming the rice cooker.

Measure out the desired amount of rice, and wash under running water. It is
recommended to rinse and repeat this process at least three times so that the
grains are thoroughly clean.
Then pour the rice into the removable pot.
Make sure that the rice is well distributed around the whole surface of the
container in order to allow for even cooking.
On completion of cooking, when the WARMING light is lit, use the spatula to
fluff rice. Leave it in the rice container for a few minutes longer before serving.
To remove rice with bottom perfectly intact and round:
o
Remove the removable cooking pot with a damp cloth, holding the
edges firmly and carefully.
o
Place the removable cooking pot on a pot holder on the table, and
cover with a round stainless steel serving dish.
o Then turn the removable cooking pot upside down, onto the plate.
o The bottom of the rice will come out easily and intact.
Always unplug the power cord and allow the appliance to cool down before
cleaning.

The condensation collector should be emptied and cleaned after each use to
avoid build-up. Rinse under warm running water. DO NOT CLEAN IN
DISHWASHER!
To remove the collector, press in on each side of the plastic
cover and remove by pulling down and out.
To replace the collector back onto the rice cooker, push
firmly upwards and into the groove.

Clean the Rice Container, Steam Basket and Steam Shield using hot water, a
mild dish detergent and a non-abrasive sponge. DO NOT use scouring pads,
powders or metal sponges.
•
If there is food stuck on any of the surfaces, allow it to soak
overnight before washing.

The Removable Rice Container, Steam Basket and Steam
Shield are also dishwasher safe.
Do not submerge rice cooker in water.
To clean the heating plate and thermo-control plate, use
steel wool to polish or remove any residue. Then wipe with a
damp cloth. Allow to dry completely before re-using.
You must keep the heating plate and thermo-control plate
free from any foreign objects; otherwise the cooker will not
operate properly.
Improper cleaning of cooker may cause unpleasant odors.
Exposing the cooker to any vinegar or salt may cause the
pan to corrode.
Dry all parts thoroughly.
NEVER IMMERSE THE RICE COOKER IN WATER
OR POUR WATER INTO IT.

Do not use metal utensils on the inside of the removable rice container.
Always use the provided plastic spatula or a plastic or wooden spoon.
Avoid putting any acidic ingredients into the rice container.
STORAGE:
Always allow the appliance to cool completely before storing away.
