The UP Dilirnan Filipiniana Dance Group is announcing their annual nationwide
auditions on April 7-10, 2015 at the University of the Philippines, Diliman Campus.( See attached
letter from U.P. Filipiniana Dance Group).
Schools Divisions Superintendents are encouraged to invite the
secondary schools to avail of the said audition in U.P. Diliman.

Greetings!
The UP Filipiniana Dance Group is the official folk dance group of the University of the PhilippinesDiliman. It was established in 1935 by Francisca Reyes-Aquino, Mother of Philippine Folk Dance
and National Artist for Dance and has since been directed by some of the best dance practitioners
and teachers in the Philippines.
In its 80 years of existence,the group has successfully represented the university and the country
in various national and international festivals and competitions in which it has received various
performance awards and recognitions. Furthermore, UPFDG was the training ground for
numerous, prominent names in the Philippine dance industry and academe.
To date, we, the UP Filipiniana Dance Group continue this tradition of excellence through its
mission of furthering and replenishing our Philippine cultural dance knowledge-base through
research; cultivating, promoting and representing our folk and ethnic dances and rituals by
participating in international festivals and by performing to an even larger audience in the
university and across the country; and producing able, well-equipped and versatile dance artists
through rigorous and effective cross-training in jazz, modern and contemporary dance classes.
In line with this, we are glad to announce that we will be having our annual, nationwide auditions
onApril 7-10, 2015 at the University of the Philippines, Diliman Campus. And we are
requesting your good office to help us disseminate this announcement and encourage all who are
interested to come and join the auditions.
The audition is open to all who are eligible to enter, transfer, or continue tertiary education
whether or not they have taken the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT). A minimum UPG of 2.800
(for UPCAT takers) or a GWA/GPA of 85%or higher (for non-UPCAT takers) is required for
application.
All interested and eligible applicants are required to register online through the group's official
Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/UPFilipiniana from March 9 to April 2, 2015. After
which a confirmation e-mail will be sent containing specific details and an application form which
has to be fully accomplished, printed and submitted in person at least one hour before the audition
starts.
