Reaction Paper One
Please use a 12-point font, 1-inch margins, and write 2 to 5 pages (not including lifeline
or any tables you must include). Papers must be in essay form, using proper grammar
and organization. You will only receive minimal credit for bullet points or outlines. Be
sure to use the grammar and spell check features on your word processor. I will not
accept handwritten papers.
After Reading Chapter 2, please complete the lifeline experience chart (figure 2.1) and
the exercises in the appendix (2A through 2E) in the textbook. After completing the
exercises write an essay where you discuss your results – one exercise at a time. For each
instrument, be sure to point out new things that you learned about yourself, things that
confirmed what you knew about yourself, and things that you think were an inaccurate
description of yourself. What things in your life does each of these exercises help
explain? In the conclusion, share your opinion of the relative merit of this approach to
understanding yourself. Critique each of the instruments and discuss how they might be
improved or be more accurate. Summarize the results and describe the kind of person the
instruments say you are and if you feel this is an accurate portrayal.
IMPORTANT copy and turn in your lifeline and test results and scores at the end of your
paper. I will not grade your paper without that material.
