Honors Geometry Vocabulary Creative Writing Project
Purpose and Focus (Objective): Compose a creative essay utilizing given vocabulary
words.
Ideas and Complexity: Questions to ask yourself: Is my story unique? Is my story
entertaining? Does my story allow the vocabulary words to retain their geometric
meaning?
Due Dates:
Rough draft will be due Wednesday, September 23rd. You are responsible for bringing
a typed draft to class for your classmate to peer edit. A deduction of 3 points on final
grade will be assessed if there is no printed draft. A deduction of 6 points on final
grade will be assessed if there is no rough draft.
Final draft will be due Monday, September 28th. You are responsible for turning in a
printed or shared copy no later than 3:00 pm. You are responsible for turning in the
peer edited rough draft as well. A deduction of 6 points will be assessed if peer edited
drafts are not turned in. A deduction of 3 points per day that is it late will be assessed
until project is turned in.
Final draft must be a minimum one page to maximum five page essay. It will be double
spaced, 12 point and Times New Roman font. Vocabulary words are to be in bold print.

Vocabulary words that are to be included: point, plane, line, segment, ray, midpoint,
congruent, similar, angle, collinear, coplanar, right angle, obtuse angle, straight angle,
acute angle, adjacent angle, linear pair of angles, vertical angles, supplementary
angles, complementary angles
