1. To what extent does the textbook relate to the curricular objectives of the County/State/National
Standards?
This book is at an AP Economics level that is recommended by College Board for AP Micro and Macro
Economics. AP Economics, both Macroeconomics and Microeconomics courses, are designed to give
students a thorough understanding of the principles of economics that apply to the functions of individual
decision makers, both consumers and producers, within the economic systems.
The AP Economics course is designed to give a complete understanding of the principles of economics
that apply to an economic system as a whole. This course places particular emphasis on the study of
national income and price determination, and also develops your familiarity with economic performance
measures, economic growth, and international economics.

The Flesh-Kincaid reading level test was applied for this textbook and it was: Grades 9-13. The
text complexity levels from MSDE suggestions would be mostly complex because this is new
material for students requiring them to read charts and make sense of government fiscal and
monetary policies.
How does the book accommodate various learning styles and levels?
Lengthy readings, short readings, short checks for understanding, free response, multiple choice.
There are many photos and charts to explain the readings.

in the field of economics. There are representations of different genders and ethnicities. The book
mainly contains charts and graphs not photos.

The book shows examples of people working in different countries as well as different social
economic statuses. It is really a book about charts and graphs that encourage the student to use
what they know to apply the knowledge to the application.

What are the weaknesses of this book?
The book contains a lot of difficult concepts that students may experience for the first time.
Therefore teachers will need to supplement current and real world experiences to make
connections for the students.

What are the major reasons for the recommendation of this book? It is organized very well, gives
real world applications that students can relate to, is perfectly in line with the College Board
Course Descrption and Requirements. Includes both Macro and Micro Economics.

This textbook is recommended by other school districts and by College Board. The book contains short
chapters and the AP focused practice questions that will assist students who are interested in this
course. This textbook has an extensive question section and provides guidance for teachers to craft
AP-like questions to offer insights into what students may face on the test.
