The Covenant School is a non-denominational Christian day school founded in 1985. It is
coeducational and open to all qualified students in grades PK–12 without regard to race, creed,
religion, or national origin. Diversity students comprise 20% of the student body; 33% of our
students receive financial assistance. Enrollment in grades 9-12 is 244 students of the total
enrollment of 500 students for the 2012-2013 school year.
Mission and Philosophy: “The Covenant School seeks to promote the moral, intellectual, and
physical development of young people. We foster the virtues of faith, wisdom, and love through
the pursuit of academic excellence and the recognition of God’s sovereignty over His creation.
We nurture our students, challenging them to follow the example of Jesus Christ, to achieve
through self-discipline, to lead by service to others and to grow in knowledge and virtue.”
The Covenant School provides a college preparatory education and seeks to inspire students to
love God and to love learning. We believe that the mere acquisition of knowledge does not
convey wisdom; and, therefore, see studying the Bible as essential for learning how to live. We
encourage students to seek truth, to develop character and to serve others.

DISCIPLINARY CONSEQUENCES
The Covenant School reports all serious breaches of community standards or potentially harmful
patterns of behavior resulting in suspension or dismissal from school. We notify appropriate
colleges of a student’s change of status; and, prior to mailing this letter for seniors in the college
admission process, we urge the senior to also inform the colleges to which he/she has applied.
GRADING POLICY
DISTRIBUTION OF CUMULATIVE GPAs
The Covenant School does not rank its students for college
admission purposes. Transcript grades are grades earned and
the cumulative GPA is weighted for AP and Honors courses
for grades of 73 and higher. For AP, 1.0 is added; for Honors,
0.5 is added; and A+ (97-100) is weighted with 0.3. Latin Seminar
and Multivariable Calculus are advanced classes above the AP
level and receive weight as an AP. Grades are scaled as follows:
A = 90 – 100
B = 80 – 89
C = 70 – 79
D = 65 – 69
