ew Covenant was founded in 1991 in the classical, Christian tradition. Unique in its approach among schools in Central Virginia,
the school serves students in pre-school to the 12th grade with the finest classical, Christian program of study in the region. The
school is fully accredited, and is affiliated with the Reformed Episcopal Church. Our campus is located on 50 acres at the foot of the
Blue Ridge Mountains in Lynchburg, Virginia.
CENTRAL FEATURES
New Covenant offers a classical education in the
Christian tradition; rooted in the liberal arts, the
curriculum is informed by the ancient Trivium:
grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric.
• Latin, Greek, math and logic are central
features in a program that values the classic
texts of the Western tradition.
• New Covenant offers in-school fine arts
programs beginning in kindergarten with music,
band, orchestra, graphic arts and drama.
• New Covenant is structured for the traditional
learner, and serves the college-bound student.
Its broad liberal arts program prepares a student
for a wide variety of educational or vocational
opportunities.

SCHOOL
SCHOOL OF RHETORIC (9-12)
• Music - Music theory beginning in
kindergarten; instruction offered in band,
orchestra and choir starting in fourth grade.
• Art - Instruction designed to develop skills in
a variety of media and the creation of original
works
• Math - Instruction that builds concepts and
skills incrementally with looping review, and
the memorization of basic math facts
• English - Early exposure to classic poetry,
fables, stories and beautifully illustrated
children’s books
• Reading - Emphasis on the sound/symbol
relationships in letters and words, writing
meaningfully and reading with understanding
• Latin - Mastery of basic vocabulary and the
concept of an inflected language
• Faith - Grounding in the well-known stories
from the Old and New Testaments with basic
doctrine
• History - Mastery of history timeline including
major events in every century of recorded
history, from 4000 BC to the present, adorned
with humor, rhythm, and motion
• Science - Focus on observation, description,
classification of the world around us

MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR DIALECTIC (5-8)

Lynchburg with 43,000 sq. ft. of educational
space, developed in three campus expansions
