2014 Attendance in Blackboard Note: Online Attendance is a Blackboard plug-in tool developed by Baylor University that allows instructors to keep track of students’ attendance within the Blackboard course. The Online Attendance tool makes it much easier to view attendance records for students, easily identify attendance issues, and create and export attendance records. Note: You will be able to create attendance reports, but there is no link to the Grade Center. If your students are graded on their attendance, you will still be required to create a Grade Center Column and manually input the grades. Configuring Online Attendance 1. Go into the course you wish to add Attendance too. 2. On the left side, click the + button. 3. From the menu, select Tool Link. 4. In the Name field, enter Attendance. 5. In the Type field, click the drop-down arrow and select Online Attendance. Click the box next to Available to Users. Note: You can leave this box unchecked if you do not want the students to see the Attendance button. 6. When finished, click the Submit button. Note: Attendance will be listed at the bottom of the burgundy panel. Click and drag it to the middle section of the course menu. 1
