Course Title: AP Macroeconomics (S2) Course Description: The AP Macroeconomics course is designed to give students a thorough understanding of the principles of economics that apply to an economic system as a whole, placing particular emphasis on the study of economic indicators like the GDP, creating and developing a price index to measure inflation, cause and effect of unemployment, and international economics. The course will provide students with an understanding of the impact of monetary and fiscal policies on economic growth, and will include case studies, graphical analysis of macroeconomic concepts and reallife application of macroeconomic concepts. This course is open to junios and seniors and takes the place of the regular senior spring Economics course. Students enrolled in AP Comparative Government and Politics (year course) are welcome to take this course additionally (but not in place of) if their schedule allows. Prerequisites: Minimum 3.5 overall GPA recommended. A completed application including essay questions and instructor approval.
