If you find yourself having trouble figuring out your schedule, are not sure what classes to take
or need general advice, come on in and meet with a Peer Adviser. They are experts in
scheduling, resolving class conflicts and are full of good advice.
The Animal Science Advising Center is open M-F 9am - 12pm and 1-4pm in 1202 Meyer.

1. FALL COMMENCEMENT!
• The deadline for registering for fall commencement has been extended!!
• Deadline is now: December 1st. You can register at www.caes.ucdavis.edu/commencement.
• Because the deadline was extended, the Dean’s office cannot guarantee late registered students will
have their names in the program or that they will receive the maximum number of tickers per
student.
• Remember students must have 150 units to walk in the winter commencement.
2. Interested in writing a great résumé?
• Joan Chandler, our staff adviser, will be holding a résumé workshop!
• LAST SESSION:
• November 17th at 3:30 – 4:30pm, Meyer Hall, Weir Room (2154)

4. Need Help with BIS 2A?
• BIS department is offering an optional 1 unit extended discussion for BIS 2A
• BIS 98 will be Pass/No pass, 100 minutes long and replace the regular discussion section for a total of 5
units. (BIS 2A worth 4 units, and BIS 98 worth 1 unit)

1. Are you interested in becoming an Orientation Leader? Or a First-Year Experience Peer
Adviser?
• Orientation student staff are members of the Orientation Team who work during the summer to provide
services for all incoming students to UC Davis.
• First year experience peer advisers work during the academic year providing academic advising and
support to students in the residential areas.
• Student staff receive extensive training.

3. Native Leadership Retreat
• Hosted by American Indian Recruitment and Retention
• The retreat will be at Valley of the Moon Retreat site in Glen Ellen, California from Jan. 20-22, 2012
• 30 spots open, fee is $20 per person, but there are 7 fee waivers available on a first come first serve
basis.
