Rahmenthema: Analysis and interpretation of the "Harry Potter" novels and movies
Zielsetzung des Seminars:
Only few books have thrilled people of almost all age groups as much as the Harry Potter
series. They started off as mere children books and ended up as a virtuous mixture of fantasy-, mystery- or coming-of-age novels, and it´s this mixture which, among other features,
makes these books so fascinating.
In the seminar we are going to have a close look at the different novels as well as the movies. After getting an overview about the content of the novels, we are going to identify topics of interest such as e.g. themes, characters, differences between novel and film,.... Then
each student is going to find his or her individual topic for the seminar paper, which he or
she is going to write from then on.
The seminar will be held in English which includes all pieces of work, too. Knowledge about
the Harry Potter novels is appreciated but not compulsory.
