VERB TENSE REVIEW Present Tense​
(just conjugate)­ ● The present tense is just a regular tense. Examples of the present tense in english would be “she walks”, or “he runs”. ​
These are actions that aren’t in the past or future. In order to do this in Spanish, conjugate the verb depending on the pronoun. 1. ar­ Ellas cantan y bailan mucho.
(cantar and bailar become cantan and bailan) 2. er­ Yo bebo muchas bebidas.
(beber becomes bebo) 3. ir­ Juan y Carlos comparten el almuerzo. (compartir becomes comparten) Present Progressive Tense(​
estar+participle = in the moment)­ ● This verb tense is almost the same as present tense, but this tense has the “ing” of an English verb. This is known as the participle. This is in the moment. In order to do this in Spanish, conjugate estar(depending on the pronoun), take away the ending, and add the participle correctly to the verb. For ar verbs, add “ando”, and for er and ir verbs, add “iendo”. 1. Nosotras estamos viendo la tele en mi casa ­ We are watching tv at my house. (The nosotros form of estar is estamos. Take away er from ver and add iendo.) IR­to go​
(Ir +a+place or Ir+a+destination =going and doing things in the near future) ● It means “to go”. In Spanish, conjugate this verb according to the pronoun. ● After, add “a” and then the place or destination(along with “the”). If a and el are next to each other, it becomes al. ● To say “I am going to_(verb)_”, one also uses this verb. First, add the correct form of IR. Then add “a” and an infinitive verb. 1. Vamos a la escuela. ­ We are going to school. 2. Vas al campo. ­ You are going to the countryside. 3. Va a las montañas. ­ He is going to the mountains. (Example of an activity­ Van a estudiar. ­ They are going to study. Big Explanation In order to talk about the present tense, use the present form. This could be “she eats” or “he sings”. get the change in the stem such as e→ i e→ ie etc. An adjective is a describing word. A verb is an action. A noun is a person, place or thing. Nouns come before adjectives!!!
