PENN STATE FIRST Scholarship Description This FIRST Engineering Excellence scholarship is sponsored by the Penn State College of Engineering. To be eligible to apply, a student must be a high school senior and participate on a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team or on a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team. To apply, complete the Penn State FIRST Scholarship application and complete a 250 word essay “What does World-Class Engineer mean to you?” Attach the application and essay to an email, and send it to the attention of Peggy Ryder, coe@engr.psu.edu. This $2,500 annual scholarship is renewable for up to four years, and has a total value of $10,000. The award will be disbursed in the amount of $1,250 for each semester, not to exceed 8 semesters. The candidate selected to receive this award must: satisfy all requirements for admission to Penn State, completing the application and enrollment process remain a full-time student and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumGPA in the College of Engineering Penn State College of Engineering Since 1896, Penn State has been a leader in engineering education, research, and service to the profession and the world community.
